Viasat1 to broadcast Trace Sports in June

In the month of June, Viasat1 is giving viewers great content to watch the ‘other side’ of their favourite football stars as the World Cup mundial goes on.

Specially acquired from Trace for the month, the programmes are a blend of sports and entertainment shows to give the average sports fan a reason to watch Viasat1.

Beginning Monday 9th June, ‘Football Stars’ will take the 6 p.m. slot and will continue airing every Monday to Friday. ‘101 World Cups’ will also air at 12 midnight from Monday to Friday in June. On 14th June, Viasat1 will air hours of sports content from Trace, starting off at 2 p.m. with Star Block Workout at 2PM, Top 20 Stars Fans of Champions, and Top 20 Love Matches. Later Saturday night, viewers can catch an array of Sports programming from 9 p.m.

Other programmes lined up include Top 20 Best Looking Champions League Players, Top 20 Euro Players Wags, Best Dressed Sports Stars, Star Rated Scariest Footballers, In the Name of Good Samuel Eto’o, among others.

Viewers can also get up-close and personal with top footballers such as Neymar, Mata, Asamoah Gyan, Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Emmanuel Adebayor, Lionel Messi, and special documentary on Michael Essien’s Peace Match.

A list of special documentaries will also air during the period, including Star Rated: Greatest European Football team; Most Annoying Things About Football; Funniest Sport Stars; What Champions Do to Look Cool; Top 20 Champions and Fashion; Top 20 Football Early Risers, and many more.

Programmes Manager at Viasat1, Frank Norteye, says “At Viasat1, our vision is our passion. Ours is to get our viewers identify with us and we don’t want our cherished viewers to be left out during the month-long football mundial. Hence, we bring you a blend of sports and entertainment show from Trace.”

The changes during the month will affect some programmes including Viasat1 News and the highly patronised telenovela, Emerald Necklace. Viasat1 wishes to inform the public that from Monday, 9th June, Viasat1 News will air at 6:30 p.m., and Emerald Necklace will take the 7 p.m. slot. However, from 31st June, the News will move to 7 p.m., while the telenovela slot will now be shifted to 6 p.m. slot.

Viasat1’s late night movie slot at 10 p.m. will also be affected in the week beginning 23rd June, making way for the 2014 World Cup news and gossip from Trace. Viewers are encouraged to visit www.viasat1.com.gh/schedule for daily programme updates.
