Ace gospel music diva Opiesie Esther was crowned with lots of glory and respect when His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama graced her wedding ceremony at the church of Pentecost at Santa Maria Central chapel in Accra last Saturday.
The vice president entered the church premises unannounced to join the second service which was the refreshment part of the wedding. In the Vice President's speech he said; “Opiesie Esther you are seeing here has been a very good friend of mine for some time.
I got to know her when I was a running mate in the last general elections. In fact, her song 'Mente Ase' encouraged me, so I decided to use the song on my campaign platforms. We were interacting constantly on the lyrics in the song until the NDC was finally pronounced victors in the elections”.
“I invited her to join me thank God during the thanks giving Service at the Assemblies of God church where I worship and she did. For the few years that I got to know her, Opiesie is very humble so my wife and I took her as our daughter since then.
My final word to you Opiesie is that, extend this humility into your marriage and you shall find peace and happiness in your family even though problems will erupt as couples, but solve them amicably in love” Vice president Mahama advised.
The ceremony which was held to unite Enoch Asiedu and Opiesie Esther as husband and wife saw ministers of God from different churches including Prophet J. O. Amaniampong (COP Dansoman Area Head), Apostle Peter Ayerakwa, Pastor Joshua Yirenkyi Smart who was the speaker for the day, Pastor Seer Tony Asamoah Boateng aka Apae Live founder of the Great Light Chapel Int, Pastor Andrews Amoo Head Pastor of Great Light Chapel, Pastor Osei Wusu-Brempong, Pastor S. Sintim Koree, Rev. Gabriel Ansah of Adom fm(Woteee) and Pastor Foster Aniakwaa the District Head who was also the MC for the program.
Among the list present at the wedding included Grace Ashy, Ohemaa Mercy, Kwaku Gyasi, Gifty Osei, Lady Prempeh, Noble Nketsia, Koff Agyekum, Willie and Mike, Mavis of Mentor fame, Florence Obinim, Ceci Twum and a host of others. They performed their songs to the admiration of the couple who took to the dance floor with love.
