Vikki Mensa-Bonsu Vikki Mensa-Bonsu is one of the best kept secrets on the Ghanaian Gospel music scene. She has been around for over two decades but it is with the release of her debut album "Yehowa" that she has finally come out of the shadows.
Vikki has been singing since the age of eleven when she attended University Primary School and later St Louis Secondary School all in Kumasi. Vikki's impeccable singing pedigree continued with her involvement in church choirs of the House of Faith Ministries in Accra and Kumasi and in the UK with the Trinity Baptist Church in London.
Not content with just singing, Vikki added another dimension to her musical credentials by also directing the Anointed Juveniles Choir at the House of Faith Ministries in Kumasi and the Voice of Faith Choir in Sunyani. Vikki is currently the Assistant Director of music for the Levites (the Twi-singing choir) of the South London based Trinity Baptist Church in the UK.
Vikki's prolific music career to date includes back up singing for the likes of Juliet Amoah, Elder Francis Adjei, Hannah Marfo-Dwomoh, Diana Akiwumi and Esther Amoako - all well known names in the gospel music arena in Ghana. Ms Mensa-Bonsu's track record includes contributions by way of singing and initial composition to albums released by the likes of Juliet Amoah, Rev Esther Nyamekye, the Anointed Juveniles with Manuela Nyamekye and Ohemeng Ayim Owusu.
Ms Mensa-Bonsu who trained as a Bilingual Secretary and has worked with The Trust Bank, Kama Health Services, the National Electoral Commission and the Soil Research Institute all in Kumasi is adamant she has not abandoned her word-processing keyboard skills for musical keyboards full-time, but shall continue to pursue both careers as she derives immense fulfilment from both.
