Wanlov Kubolor needs Reform – Sadia Sanusi

Few months ago, controversial lyricist, Wanlov Kubolor was seen on TV3 opening his manhood towards Deloris Frimpong Manso aka Delay on her ‘Delay Show’, a gesture which erupted roars from all sectors of the industry. He received a whole lot of lampooning at what he did.

Everything seemed dead and calm on the ‘ill-mannered’ behaviour, until the last Saturday’s night, at the finals of the Miss Malaika @10 event at the Accra International Conference Centre, when one of the delegates – Sadia Sanusi, the 2nd runner up was asked her question from one of the judges on which celebrity she would love to reform if given the chance? Straight from the top of her head, the damsel mentioned, ‘Wanlov Kubolor’.

Her answer attracted cheers and jeers from all sectors of the room alike. It was a well calculated one as if she had prepared for it. More like it, she expressed herself confidently churning out reasons why our so called celebrities should be more of a role model than ‘nuisance’ to younger ones who admire them.

Sadia’s response will linger with its basis as food for thought, thus, are our ‘celebrities’ forgetting our African norms and values? Who should have been blamed for such act?

The Miss Malaika @ 10 was the tenth edition of a pageantry which have groomed beauty and elegance over the years.
