A student of St. John’s Grammar Senior High School in Accra had the shock of his life when he was duped at Circle during a phone transaction.
The student intended to swap his iPhone 7 for an iPhone XR, but at the end of the transaction, he got served with building tiles packed nicely as a phone.
Not only did the student lose his phone, but he also gave out GH¢300 to the person he was transacting the swap deal with.
A video of the incident that has gone viral showed the student, who appeared shocked to the marrow, cursing his stars.
“I wanted to swap my phone. I gave him 7 Plus for XR,” he said as he was being queried by onlookers.
The student could still not believe that he had been scammed because the phone handed to him was working.
“I switched it (the iPhone XR) on oo. I switched it on,” the student lamented.
The scammer gave the student a phone housing, which was filled with a tile and was put in a nice phone case.
