Show host and entertainment pundit Sally Mann has disclosed that she, along with other media personalities in the country, planned to end the career of dancehall musician Shatta Wale.

Speaking on Adom TV on November 10, 2024, the outspoken journalist explained that their primary objective was to promote Stonebwoy and push him toward winning a Grammy award, while sidelining Shatta Wale in the process.

Sally claimed their reason for attacking the "On God" hitmaker is because of what she termed as disrespect for media personalities in the country.

“We held caucus meetings to push Stonebwoy toward winning a Grammy. The agenda was clear: we are supporting you (Stonebwoy) because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media. But now, you (Stonebwoy) are deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him?” she said.

“The agenda was to take you to the Grammys, and as for him (Shatta Wale), his career is over. He is now a pensioner. Look at how well you’ve done over the past three years, even with your 5th Dimension album. But now you’re making things difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.

Sally also raised concerns about Stonebwoy’s habit of responding to matters that could be left ignored.

She warned that his frequent comments, particularly his statement that the Jejereje remix with Skrewfaze isn't ideal, could damage his brand and hinder some opportunities.

"As a sensible person, you should know that your fans alone can't get you a Grammy. If Skrewfaze jumps on a track, he can bring his fans into the mix too. You talk too much, PR work isn’t for everyone. Stop trying to do the job of a PR person. That's why you have someone in charge to handle that for you,” she advised.

Background

Sally Mann’s comments come on the heels of Stonebwoy’s statement that a remix of his new ‘Jejereje’ song with hiplife artiste Skrewfaze would not be commercially beneficial for him.

Recently, the BHIM Nation president has faced backlash for what some people perceive as unnecessary comments and a habit of overhyping himself in foreign interviews.

In a recent interview on the streets of London, Stonebwoy claimed that some Ghanaians often mistaking him for a foreigner, particularly a Jamaican.

He also faced criticism after calculating the worth of his ‘expensive’ outfit, claiming he bought it from the same place where artistes like Burna Boy and Wizkid shop.
