Music duo, Akatakyie, made up of Prince Kwabena Budu Asumaning (Kobby Culture) and Ebenezer Kwasi Okyere Asumaning (King Pharaoh) have revealed that their absence from the music industry was due to the poor performance of their management team.

“The reason why we fizzled out so easily was as a result of too many sacrifices we offered to our clients; however we also had a wicked management who did nothing for us. Our first management was Peter and Kojo Gyau and the second one was Uncle George. They rather promoted the music instead of the artiste.”

The group, speaking on Vibes in 5 with Arnold Mensah Elavanyo disclosed that they have studied the music industry and are now up to the task.

“We also wanted to study the game and also look for someone to sponsor our new album.”

Their debut album, Ghana mbaa, made a lot of waves on the Ghanaian music scene in 1999. It was hard to classify them a hiplife or highlife group as Odo esisi me ruled various charts and won them Ghana music award nominations including the best hiplife song. They followed that album with Odo Esikyire, Yede aba and Esi.

They have hits like Ghana mmaa, Agoo, Odo esikyire, Sinsima, Esi, Meyare, Masan aba, Oman baapa, Odo ye musu anaa, among others.
