Ghanaian movie producers hardly disclose the amount invested in a movie, but Kofi Asamoah, CEO of Kofas Media has disclosed the capital he pushed into his first produced film, “Kalybos In China.”
Kofas, as he is popularly called, at a press conference to brief the media on his yet-to-be-produced movie, “Amakye & Dede” on Friday afternoon in Accra revealed that he spent $45,000 on the 2015 released movie.
“Budget for Kalybos in China from production till the movie hit the cinemas was about $45,000. That included the trip we made around to film the movie. The movie was shot in Accra, Dubai, and China so it was three different continents, three different countries.”
He further stated the profit he generated from the movie. According to him, he made 38% ($17,100) interest out of “Kalybos In China”.
“… and then we made a profit of about 38% of what we put in. It was a super good business.”
The movie which has already been premiered in eleven cities in Ghana will be released online this April for the public.
He further revealed the budget for the new movie which production starts on February 7, 2016, “Amakye & Dede” as $26,000.
“Amakye & Dede” features actors like, Majid Michel, Kalybos, Ahuofe Patri, Apostle John Prah, KKD, KSM and many others.
