Ghanaian dancehall musician, Stonebwoy, has expressed furry over claims that his recent GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration) certificate was handed to him or bought, rather than earned through his own efforts.

In an interview with GTV's Kafui Dey, Stonebwoy addressed these allegations, stating that only individuals with a "daft mentality" would make such claims.

He emphasised the rigorous process at GIMPA, noting the presence of cameras in exam halls and asserting that it is impossible to bypass the institution's systems.

"I want to address these naysayers because sometimes their noise drowns out the truth. There are cameras in the exam halls, which shows how difficult it is to cheat. You have to study; you can't beat the system," he said.

Stonebwoy also criticised those spreading these accusations, suggesting that their negativity undermines his achievement.

"Ahwenepa nkasa [‘quality beads’ don't make much noise], but when we stay silent for too long, it allows foolishness to prevail. Claiming GIMPA gifted me the certificate, what poverty-stricken mentality is that? What kind of failure mentality is that?" he asked.

He further defended his academic efforts by explaining that his schedule necessitated attending evening classes.

"I had to attend evening classes because the morning option didn't fit my schedule. It's not easy, there are even cameras in the exam hall, let nobody lie to anyone," he stated.

Background

During Stonebwoy's graduation, some critics questioned whether he deserved his degree, alleging that he was rarely seen in class and suggesting that he might have bought his way through the program.

Despite receiving congratulations from many, these doubts persisted among some netizens on social media.

Stonebwoy graduated with a Second Class Upper in Business Administration from GIMPA after completing a three-year program.
