Movie producer and director, Frank Garbin, has responded to Kumawood actor Oboy Siki's comments on his newly produced movie, 'A Country Called Ghana'.
It would be recalled that Oboy Siki, in an interview with Angel FM criticized Frank Garbin as an old movie director who knows nothing when it comes to movie directing and production.
โThe movie you directed is not good. It's not nice. Although I haven't watched the movie yet, I know it's not nice because the director is not good. They shouldn't have allowed him to direct this movie," Oboy Siki stated.
Following this, Frank Garbin, who appeared on the May 11, 2024, edition of the United Showbiz program, rebuked Oboy Siki, stating that โA lot of hateful comments have occurred around this particular movie. Let's consider someone like Oboy Siki.
"Throughout the years that I have worked and the great movies that I have produced, he has never spoken ill of me. He has never insulted me. I want Ghanaians to know that Oboy Siki and I have never conversed for even five minutes before. We've never worked together, let alone discussed money issues. Weโve not fought over a woman before.
"He wanted me to give Paa George's role in A Country Called Ghana to him instead of the veteran. But you had told me and Ghanaians that you were going to die in 2024. So, if I call you to come and work and you die on set, what will I say?
"Secondly, Oboy Siki, in matters of proverbial wisdom, your counsel often falls short. Much of your guidance to the youth lacks substance, leaving me uncertain of what value you would have added had I entrusted you with that role. Therefore, upon weighing both your capabilities and those of Paa George, I opted for the latter," Garbin told MzGee, the show's host.
