Recently, some Ghanaian celebrities have publicly declared their support for some political parties as the country heads towards its general election.

Earlier in September 2024, actor Prince David Osei made an advert for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). The advertisement appears to convey the digitalization message of the NPP.

Also, comedian DKB, who is a staunch NDC member, likewise made an advertisement for the NDC, which also seems to portray the 24-hour economy policy by the NDC.

The advert made by Prince David Osei concerning digitalization:

The advert by the actor seems to portray the NPP's digitalization campaign message and how one could purchase prepaid light without having to buy it from a vendor.

In the advertisement, one could see how the lights of the actor went off in the middle of the night, and he restored it by buying it from his phone.

DKB, on the other hand, made an advertisement for the National Democratic Congress on October 16, 2024. In the advertisement, the comedian also tried to portray the "24-hour economy" policy by the NDC.

The comedian was seen going to the bank to make a withdrawal around 3:18 AM.

Meanwhile, the advert made by the Ghanaian comedian has received much reaction from netizens and the National Democratic Congress.

Statement by the National Democratic Congress

Minutes after the video by the DKB received attention online, the National Democratic Congress issued a press statement to refrain its party sympathizers from creating and distributing unauthorized content in the run-up to the general elections.

After several backlash from netizens, the comedian has taken down the video from all his social media handles.

He also called on critics to spare him, pause, and drink water.

Despite being disappointed by the press statement from the NDC, he, however, threw his support for the former president, John Dramani Mahama.
