Entertainment critic and panelist on GhanaWeb TV’s Bloggers' Forum, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, has waded into the Nana Romeo-Wendy Shay interview controversy that hit social media some days ago.

Recall that on the 9th of June 2020, fast-rising female artiste Wendy Shay walked out on Accra100.5FM’s Nana Romeo during an interview on the station’s mid-morning show ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’.

The ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker was infuriated by Nana Romeo's inquisition about her relationship with her manager, claiming that he had evidence they were having an affair.

An obviously irritated Wendy Shay told the host she did not find interest in that style of questioning because her two-year-old existence in the music industry has been progressive and, thus, it was high time the focus was shifted to promoting her brand to the next level and Ghana music onto the international level.

“I am not dating Bullet. I don’t know why most of the time when I go for interviews, instead of focusing on issues that will bring progress in our music industry, I get these questions … Let’s focus on my artistry, pushing my brand and Ghana music to the international level,” she told Nana Romeo.

A rather determined Nana Romeo kept probing, insisting that he had evidence on his phone to prove that, indeed, she and her manager were in a relationship despite her furious denials and if she dared him he was going to release the said evidence on social media.

Wendy Shay who couldn’t take it anymore apologised to her fans, followers, and listeners and walked out of the studio, abruptly ending the interview.

But Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo was of the view that whomever an artiste chooses to sleep with, be it their manager or any other person is no one’s business, regardless of the evidence people may claim they have.

According to Arnold who was making a contribution to the discussion on the incident that happened between Wendy Shay and Nana Romeo, the interrogative nature of the interview was what made it unprofessional. He said, when an artiste chooses not to answer a question and pleads with the presenter to move on to the next question, the presenter has no right to keep demanding answers from a question the guest has moved on from.

He said Nana Romeo threatening to release evidence he claimed to have, showing the two (Wendy Shay and Bullet) were in a relationship, was neither here nor there.

“One way or the other you respectfully oblige, but to insist you have evidence, who gives a damn about evidence? Whoever she is sleeping with we don’t care…,” he said on GhanaWeb TV's Bloggers Forum Show hosted by Abrantepa.
