Media personality Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, has stated that Archbishop Salifu Amoako and his wife could be sentenced if found guilty of negligence related to their son’s accident.

She explained that if the police can provide evidence that the pastor and his wife failed to supervise their child while he was driving, they could face serious legal consequences.

Vim Lady emphasised that a viral video circulating on social media, showing Salifu Amoako’s son, who is under 18, driving at high speed, could worsen their situation.

“Bishop Salifu Amoako's son’s case is serious because the charges could be severe due to their negligence in supervising the child, which led to the accident.

“If it is proved that they did not adequately supervise the boy, allowing him to access the car keys and resulting in an accident that killed two people, they could be jailed,” she said during an Instagram live session.

Vim Lady added that if the child is found solely responsible for the accident, he would not face jail time due to his age.

“Even if the child is found guilty, he would be sent to a special school for three years. Juvenile law prohibits imprisoning those under 18 due to their immature mental state,” she explained.

Background

CCTV footage from the crash, which occurred on Saturday, October 12, 2024, revealed the circumstances surrounding the accident that resulted in the deaths of two girls and left three others critically injured.

The footage showed Salifu Amoako’s son, Elrad, speeding toward a junction where he collided with another vehicle, leading to a fire.
