The Aiteo CAF awards was held last night at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) which left Ghanaians peeved at the line up of performers on the night.
The event which was hosted by legendary Ivorian Footballer Didier Drogba and South African sports journalist Carol Tshabalala saw a full line up of Nigerian musicians who performed including Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Phyno, Patoranking, Flavour, Olamide with only two Ghanaian performers which angered most Ghanaians.
The event which was held last night January 4, 2018 had other non Ghanaian performers including Congolese Fally Ipupa and Togolese Toofan.
Ghanaians who criticised the organizers of the show queried why the show was full of Nigerian performers when there was abundant of music talent in the country and especially when such an august occasion was held in in Ghana.
Ghanaguardian.com earlier reported exclusively that Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, was billed to perform on the show. However, he did not turn up which left Ghanaians wondering what went wrong.
In a report by popular Ghanaian DJ, DeeJay Adviser, he indicated that the Dancehall artiste angrily left the AICC after there was a miscommunication between the artiste and the organizers of the event.
