Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has opened up about her decision to leave the social media platform Facebook.

In an interview on Okukuseku with Emelia Brobbey, Beverly Afaglo discussed the tragic fire that destroyed her house in 2021 and how she was prevented from returning to her home by the police, leaving her with only the clothes on her back.

After the incident, she narrated that her colleague actress Yvonne Nelson suggested starting a GoFundMe campaign to help Beverly rebuild her life, Adomonline.com reports.

Unfortunately, the campaign led to a wave of insults and attacks on social media, with Facebook being the main source of negativity.

"People were insulting me on Instagram and other platforms, but Facebook was the worst. I couldn't understand why I was being attacked when I had lost everything," she said.

Feeling overwhelmed by the hostility, Beverly decided to leave Facebook to protect her mental health.

Since the events of August 2021, she has not returned to the platform, prioritizing her peace of mind over her social media presence.
