'Why an upcoming artiste wanted to turn me into a goat'

Skrew Face Skrew Face

Born on April 20th, Skrew Face in an interview on eTV’s The Late Nite Celebrity Show has detailed how his recent problems with an underground act began.

Skrew Face was alleged to have been given GH¢200.00 in 2014 by rising artist, King Zazy to feature him(Screw Face) on his new single, titled ‘San Bra’.

“Sometime back, a young artist approached me for collaboration and I told him I was going to charge him GHC2000 for my verse. The reason why I charge the upcoming act is that when you do the record for free they don’t make the effort to promote the record but when you charge, they push because of their initial investment.

“This upcoming act said he couldn’t afford GHC2000, I requested for GHC 1500 and he still said he couldn’t afford the GHC1500. He insisted on seeing me and so I told him to bring a GHC 1000 and that was after he came to see me but he said he didn’t have the GHC 1000 on him yet so I should collect the GHC 200 he had so he could go hustle for the rest. He asked me to hold onto the GHC 200. Now it’s been two years and I didn’t hear from this guy. Recently, when my issues with Charterhouse surfaced, from nowhere this artist popped up in the media claiming his GHC200 from two years back.

“He knows my house and my number but he never reached out. He then mentioned that he took me to Nzulezu to be turned into a goat and I was wondering ‘this was the same guy I wanted to help?’ He then said he wasn’t taking the GHC200 no more but he was taking GHC 1000. So I said he should wait for two weeks. He then later came back to say his pastor had advised him to stop process of turning me into a goat so he wants only his GHC 200.

But this is the same guy who couldn’t pay me GHC 1000 for a feature but got enough money to go buy a goat just to turn me into a goat. If the money he gave me was GHC 2000, I could have made some efforts to find him but it was GHC 200. So I told him I was going to give him GHC 1000 but he insisted he was going back to Nzulezu and all that.

“I believe in stuff like that so I took it serious but I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. Even after I said I was going to pay the money he was still pushing that he was going to travel to the place. But I told him I couldn’t do that to him because of GHC 200 so I didn’t understand why he was doing that. But my management made a move to pay and he said his pastor asked him not to do that and so he wanted only his GHC 200. The issue is settled now.”
