A UK-based Ghanaian preacher, Brian Amoateng has paid the surgical bills of veteran actor, William Addo.
This adds up to previous assistance offered the actor since reports of him coming out publicly to announce he was on the verge of losing his sight, if he is not able to raise five thousand Ghana cedis to have surgery.
He told Accra-based radio, Hitz FM weeks ago that he was gradually losing his sight as a result of glaucoma and cataract. He needed immediate care or he would lose his sight.
The UK-based Ghanaian preacher also offered to pay off the surgical bills for Mr. William Addo.
Presenting the money on behalf of the preacher who could not make it to Ghana, his assistant Eyra Doe noted that it was the hope of Pastor Amoateng that the veteran actor will regain his sight after his surgery and get to live a normal life again.
Elated William Addo expressed gratitude to pastor Brian Amoateng and his foundation for their support. He prayed God’s blessings of restoration on the man of God.
“I am humbled and touched by this kind gesture. God richly bless you and I hope to meet you one of these days”, he noted. Brian Amoateng who doubles as the founder of Brian Jones Amoateng foundation, noted he was touched by the story of William Addo.
He was one of his favourite actors he liked to watch while growing up. “William Addo was one of my favorite actors when I was young so when I saw the story I told myself, if I can’t help him, why don’t I help and save him from going blind”, he said.
