Wogbejeke returns today

Wogbejeke Wogbejeke

Wogbejeke – the most exhilarating history lesson you will ever have, is scheduled to return to the National Theatre this 22nd August by popular demand.

Audiences could not get enough of the spectacular show, which tells the history of Ghana with music, narration, dance, drama and poetry.

As the saying goes, ‘time flies when one is having fun’. No description could be truer for the spectacular show which had its first showings early last month. The audience sat through the gripping two-hour show and did not realise just how much time had passed!

Who would have thought history could be so enjoyable? From the sound of the powerful drums at the very beginning; to the choir’s soulful rendition of the heritage theme song; to the haunting sound of the chant that opens the show; right through some of the major high points of our history, there was never a dull moment!

The high energy of dancers in the well-choreographed movements of our traditional dances, and the engaging spirit of the cast received applause after applause from the audience. It was, without a doubt, a night to feel truly proud of being Ghanaian!

Wogb?j?k? is written and produced by Chief Moomen, directed by Anima Misa Amoah and Abdul Karim Haikib and sponsored by Key Soap. It features a cast and crew of 150 people made of a choir, dancers, actors, poets etc.

The show is coming back bigger and better! Another chance to see the store of amazing talent we have, to see and hear our story and to experience what happens when all that remarkable talent comes together in one massive performance! If you missed it the first time, don’t miss out again!
