Would it have been okay if he sang at home? - Vida Adutwumwaa questions Catholic Church

Popular entertainment pundit Vida Adutwumwaa has questioned the rationale behind an apology rendered to the Catholic Church by Rev. Fr. Peter Kusi Twumasi, Acting Rector of St. Stephen Rectorate in Bodomase, for singing King Paluta’s ‘Aseda’ in church.

According to the entertainment pundit, the Catholic priest was apologising for singing King Paluta’s hit song in church because the move was unholy and against the Catholic faith.

She questioned if the priest, who shares the same beliefs and faith as the Catholic Church, would be considered holy if he sang the song at home.

“If you observed the video very well, you would realise that the pastor sang the song from A-Z, so even if he hadn’t sung the song in the church, the music and its lyrics would have still been on his mind and in his heart, and he can sing at home.

“So, I want to know, would it have been alright if he sang at home? Would that have made him a holy father and righteous before God? Are we not being hypocritical about worshipping God?” Vida Adutwumwaa said on the United Showbiz show hosted by MzGee.

The entertainment pundit said she feels it is unfortunate and unfair if the Catholic Church in Ghana forced the priest to render the apology.

She said, “I feel it is unfortunate if the church pressured him to write that apology letter. If that is the case, the church should go further and erase the lyrics of the song from his mind.”
