Many Ghanaian celebrities have joined the chorus of tributes to late actor Bishop Bernard Nyarko who died on Saturday, May 2.

Through their individual social media handles, they have mourned their colleague in diverse ways. While some have shared pictures of him with tributes as captions, others have uploaded short videos from movies which had them interact with Bernard Nyarko. The captions are statements of shock, sorrow and disbelief.

“ooo my God, why? Please why... so soon... RIP Bishop Bernard Nyarko,” actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin wrote.

“May the Lord keep your soul in a perfect place. RIP Bishop,” Kwaku Manu’s read.

Beyond words, videos of actress Mercy Asiedu and diminutive actor Yaw Dabo shedding tears profusely as they mourn their colleague have been circulating on various social media platforms.

Although information about Bernard Nyarko’s death is scanty, there are reports he battled ‘unknown’ illness and became a full-time pastor.

Exactly a month ago, he was reported to have said he has quit acting and nothing will make him rescind the decision.

Bishop Nyarko, in a viral video was heard telling his congregation that he has decided to follow the steps of actor Majid Michelle, stressing that the movie industry is full of evil.

“I have stopped because it’s full of evil. Every day, you would meet different people; every day, you would see different girls. All of them want you to become their friends and some of them are coming from the marine sea, they should take their movie,” he said.
