Yaw Siki is fine and recovering - Manager

Young Tema-based musician, Yaw Siki, is doing fine; four months after an accident nearly claimed his life, and that of a friend. His manager, Coaches, of Penthaus Productions has told enewsgh.com.

“He is fine … as in he’s recovering … he’s 80% through with the recovery process. I can say he’s fine compared to how everything started he is fine now,” Coaches said.

He tells this website donations from industry friends (while on admission), as well as the support of the label has been beneficial for the artiste’s post intensive care upkeep, adding “We still have enough money to take care of him and that money is not done yet. There is still money in the coffers looking at what the people contributed.”

“The accident hasn’t affected his desire to make music,” Coaches says. “It hasn’t affected him at all. All he needs now is to gain his proper strength and to be able to jump on stage again that’s all. And that’s what we waiting for.”

Coaches’ prayer for a fully-healed Siki may be answered anytime soon, as the young act has in the last few weeks, shown signs of getting back to business.

“He is still writing music. Killbeatz still sends him beats on his blackberry so he will be back in full force. This time around, it’s going to be more positive music. That’s what he is thinking now. Life by R2Bees is an example of positive music. He is going to bounce back very soon, he was looking at the month of August but the doctor said he should hold on a bit. Hopefully next month he is going to be seen around and everything.” Coaches also hinted of a thanksgiving concert when the coast is much clearer.

“He is going to have a thanksgiving concert; we are going to go to church and thank God for his life and after we will have an event not in Tema alone. He is going to come across wherever the fans are; they will bring the event there from Kumasi to Sunyani to Tamale everywhere.”

A sad event that occurred on the morning of Monday April 15, 2013 Yaw Siki was involved in an accident on the Accra-Tema Motorway with a friend, on their way back from a business meeting in Accra.

Their Toyota Camry car somersaulted near the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Dominion Centre. All two were rushed to the 37 Military Hospital. He was later admitted and treated for deeps cuts on his head.

Siki was subsequently discharged after spending some two weeks at the military-run health facility.
