Year in Review: Epic red carpet fails of 2019

Red carpets are expected to be fun and filed with glitz and glam from some of the best designers of our time both locally and internationally. But sometimes this glitz and glam becomes a nightmare.

Celebrities wanted to raise standard and be the center of everyone’s attention but unfortunately, some of them went too far.

There were huge stains on our red carpet this year, let’s go through a few of these epic fails.

Let’s throw back to the beginning of the year and take a look at our 2019 red carpet fails

MC Domentor and DJ Decoder: At this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, this pair did not seem like they owned their look. Their dress, hair and accessories were totally off and critics wondered who styled them or what went into the wedding dress theme for the night.

Kumi Guitar’s VGMA outfit: His look left us with no words. Was the pattern signifying an instrument? We have not found answers to that question yet but the look on the red carpet was an epic fail.

Beverly Afaglo’s Glitz Africa Week: Actress and wife of Praye’s Choirmaster, Beverly Afaglo had a lot going on at the Glitz Africa Week. We are still wondering who her stylist was and if they are still at post.

Oye Lithur at the Glitz Africa Week: We totally love her new look but just maybe, she needed the right attire for her body. Her choice of dress and hair for the Glitz Africa Week was not good enough.

Toli Master: On other days, Toli Master made us laugh through jokes but on the VGMAs red carpet, he was the laughing stock. I mean, what did he think he was wearing?

Efia Odo: Efia Odo, as controversial as she is, her recent look to the 4syte Music Video Awards landed her in the epic fail category. It was unclear if she was copying American rapper Rihanna, but she failed to make it into the best dress category with the fish-net like outfit she had going on.

Pappy Kojo: Can we end the list without talking about Pappy Kojo’s ‘fancy dress’, popularly known as ‘Kaakaamotobi’ to the Glitz awards? For someone who prides himself as a pacesetter when it comes to fashion, we were not impressed with his style choice, he should have known that the Glitz was not the place to take such a dress.
