Year of Return Comedy Night to ‘unite’ Ghanaians and Diasporans

Comedian DKB will today, January 1 lead a team of great Ghanaian comedians to entertain patrons at the Year of Return Comedy Night show.

The show is aimed at bringing Ghanaians and the many visitors from the Diaspora together for a great night of comedy and music.

Speaking in an interview with 3news’ Owusu Worae, DKB said the show will serve as a platform to showcase what Ghana has in terms of comedy to the world through the many people who are in the country as part of the Year of Return initiative.

“We’ve had exhibitions through music, movies etc but we’ve not had a comedy twist of the Year of Return, so this Year of Return Comedy Night is basically Ghana meet America.”

“Year of Return Comedy Night, the theme is ‘Bridging the gap with humour”, so we are going to have Ghanaians and diasporans mixed up where we bring out our differences, we laugh and the humour unites us,” DKB said.

He noted key on the agenda for the night will be creating humour from most of the key events and incidents that took place in the year.

The event which is taking place at the Alisa Hotel will see performances from O.B Amponsah, Jacinta, DKB himself and a few other Ghanaian comedians.

There will also be music from Zanku hitmakers, Dope Nation and Bisa Kdei.
