President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, has said a dancehall artiste need not be rowdy or violent in order to succeed.
He said this in an interview on Peace FM Entertainment Review show in the presence of Shatta Wale who says he has changed.
“Buju was a dancehall artiste and he was very gentle. Yes, Buju Banton. So it is not true that you have to be gidigidi and rowdy to succeed as a dancehall artiste” he said.
Okraku Mantey has previously called Shatta Wale an attention seeker who does not care about the effects of his actions following Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s fight on the stage of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
His comment attracted a jab from mother of the celebrated dancehall artiste, Elsie Evelyn Avemegah aka Shatta Mama.
