Collins Gyan Oppong, known in showbiz circles as Bra Collins has said he is unfazed by the numerous criticisms against his decision to do ‘gospel rap music’ as he is focused on winning souls through that medium.

Bra Collins who used to do secular music maintained in an interview with GhanaWeb that he pays no attention to persons who are bent on discouraging him from accomplishing his mission, stressing that he has been bombarded with such messages ever since he took a firm decision to be different.

“I’m ready. I can take anything. I’ve started getting some crazy messages in my inboxes but I don’t care. I don’t care; they’re not strong enough to break me,” he stated.

Priding himself on being a ‘rap evangelist’, Bra Collins further mentioned that there is no straightjacket way of spreading the gospel, hence his resolve to focus on winning souls through rap.

“I’m just using rap as a medium to preach. I feel we can reach the youth through rap music especially with the kind of music we hear these days on radio. 100% profanity... You hear and ask yourself why it’s being played on radio,” he said.

“My primary objective is to win souls. Salvation is a gradual process. I’m looking at that guy on the street that doesn’t even want to hear about Christianity because of what someone is doing so I just want to start with Christian rap. I want my songs to be played where you don’t expect gospel music to be played.”

Bra Collins is out with a single titled ‘Adom Bi’. The song which was produced by Wei Ye Oteng, features legend, Obrafour.

‘Adom Bi’ touches on how grateful the artiste is to God, for his mercies which endures forever. Bra Collins extols God, advises listeners to be thankful as the Creator will surely open more doors.
