If any Ghanaian artist has suffered bad publicity stemming from rumours since the past year, it is none other than CEO of WBDN Records, Nana Wiafe Asante-Mensah popularly known as Asem but the rapper does not care.
Days after the rapper who had gone missing from the Ghanaian music scene released pictures of his current stature on social media, several Ghanaian blogs were saturated with damning reports of the rapper’s health condition with some concluding that he was on drugs however, the negative publications will not get Asem down as he bounces back to the recording studio.
In a post shared on Facebook on Thursday May 21 2015, the Give Me Blow hit maker said he appreciates all those who keep spreading false rumours about him since that serves as a source of inspiration.
“To when it all started before the money and the fame, before we got on some unhealthy lifestyle and put on too much weight.
I’ve always wanted to go back to the healthy trim dude I was created to be , so grateful to almighty for giving me the strength to overcome. Y’all can say whatever y’all want , spread false rumours as much as y’all want , I appreciate it all , bring it on I beg of you keep me in the news keep talking about ASEM I need it , we are in this together.
Your negativity can never break me , it has always been the inspiration that makes me. I’m grateful for the life I have, most people haven’t achieved a quarter of what I have accomplished at such a young age so if all I have to deal with are some fools on social media talking trash I have no cause to be mad at all, I even say Thank you for having time to comment, there are a million things you could have used your precious minutes for.
The rapper however pleads with his fans to wait patiently for him as he ‘cooks’ something in the laboratory.
“And to all my fans and lovers I know it’s been a minute, but remember God’s time is the best , I will plead with y’all something is coming.” Until forming his own WBDN Records, Asem worked with Lynx Entertainment where he had his major breakthrough.
