In the wake of Ghanaian influencer Gisela Amponsah’s spiteful comments about her father and how they have had a bitter relationship since childhood, actress Yvonne Nelson has topped Twitter trends.

Tweeps have spotted some similarities between her ‘daddy issues’ and those of Yvonne Nelson.

Earlier in Gisela’s submission to the ‘Rants, Bants, and Confession’ podcast, she condemned her father, whom she described as a demon and non-existent in her life.

In her outbursts, she detailed how she is the eldest child out of five siblings, but her father has detested her since childhood.

“I am his first child; I was there before the rest, but he has never liked me since childhood. I remember when I was young, he would come to my school and pick up my step siblings and abandon me and my brother at the school. He started talking to my brother just recently.

“He is cool with my brother. He talks to my brother now; he sends him money, and my brother even lives with him. I am his eldest child, but he doesn't even care about me,” she stated.

During the podcast session, Gisela’s statements prompted Efia Odo to ask if the ‘man in question’ was indeed her biological father, and she gave a positive reply.

Efia Odo also asked if her mother had given her clarity on why her father treats her that way, and she gave a vague response.

However, netizens on social media have also sided with Efia Odo’s direction to probe into the matter, as they have wondered why, out of five siblings, Gisela’s dad singled her out to hate her.

To them, Gisela should start asking her mother the necessary questions, just like Yvonne Nelson did, in the quest to find and uncover questions about her father.

Tweeps have asked Gisela to investigate the identity of her real father, just like Yvonne Nelson did, so as not to regret all the wild statements she is currently making about the man she currently calls her dad.

“Not everyone can definitely have a sensible father or mother for sure, but make sure you get all the findings before saying anything you might layer regret on camera. Yvonne Nelson insulted an innocent man, "Mr. Nelson," for so many years and later came to apologise to a dead man,” a tweep wrote.

Yvonne Nelson’s journey of unravelling her identity and finding her real dad

One of the many things that popped up in Yvonne Nelson’s book was the 'identity crises' she suffered because her mother had no idea who her father was.

In the book, Yvonne establishes that she had to conduct a DNA test to ascertain the real identity of her father after the man she had called ‘dad’ for all these years wasn’t the one.

Yvonne Nelson, in her book released sometime in June 2023, said the man whom she thought was his father, whom she had lambasted all these years for abandoning her, told her on his deathbed that her real father was the former speaker of parliament, Peter Ala Adjetey.

However, Yvonne’s hopes were squashed for the second time as DNA tests proved that the former speaker also wasn’t her father, a situation that has since left the actress in limbo.

Because, to date, Yvonne doesn’t know her real father, the actress’ mother’s chastity has been questioned, with netizens wondering if she slept around with men to have sparked these consequences.
