I’m very glad to be in the entertainment industry and more happy to see the drastic change over the years. I think we are heading towards the right direction eventually. Gone are the days when our TV screens were graced by Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari and some few selected movie stars. It seems at first, if it was not Jackie or Nadia then is not a movie.
From those days till now has seen a tremendous change in our movie industry. Lots of talented actors and actresses have joined the movie industry adding a bit of variety to our movies.
As part of our own way of promoting the entertainment industry, we conducted a poll for fans as to which of these actresses Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Okoro and Martha Ankomah will be voted as people’s favorite.
The poll allowed an individual to vote once so as to avoid double voting. The one month poll saw fans voting for their favorite. After the month voting, Yvonne Okoro had the highest vote with 39% of the total vote cast. Nadia Buari was the first runner up also with 29% of the total vote cast and Martha Ankomah with 28% and Jackie Appiah 27% for the second and third runner up respectively out of the total vote of 1670.
This shows how Ghanaian movie industry has changed from the cast of one person in so many movies. Ghanaian movie lovers have been commending producers of how the screen is not like it used to be and the initiative of changing faces on their movie sets and bringing in creative ideas.
Yvonne Okoro as we all know her for hilarious acts has starred in so many movies including the 10 chapter movie Adams Apple, The Game to mention few. We congratulate her for winning the heart of her fans and advices her to work hard because the sky is just the beginning of greater things.
The poll which is organized every month has seen an improvement since it was initiated. The first poll was about the best rapper in Ghana which fans voted for Ghana’s BET award winner Sarkodie with the Rap doctor Okyeame Kwame being the first runner up.
This month’s poll is asking Ghanaians to vote for their favourite music group in Ghana among 4×4, Bradez, R2bees and Buk Bak.
It sums up to the fact that Ghana is progressing in the entertainment circles.
