Zimbabwean Jazz icon Dudu Manhenga visits Ghana

Zimbabwean Jazz sensation, Dudu Manhenga, is currently in Ghana ahead of a two day musical concert to be held in Kumasi on March 6, 2014 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi.

The event powered by KNUST, KMA, Premiere Productions, Global Media Alliance and One Nation Entertainment is being organised to celebrate Ghana’s independence anniversary.

Being her first time in Ghana, Dudu has promised to rock her audience in their seats and on their feet. Blessed with an incomparably smooth voice, excellent writing and production skills, as well as good stagecraft and crowd pleasing dance ability, Dudu is poised to dazzle audiences come Thursday March 6.

Setting the pace for the performances would however be some of the very best from the crop of Ghanaian artistes including Bertha, Efya, Okyeame Kwame, Offie Cudjoe and Sir Freeman.

Dudu’s style is influenced by great African and jazz singers, and the dignity of her delivery is a credit to her and to her country, wherever she goes.

Her music has been accurately described as ‘an afro jazz adventure’, a fusion of genres: afro, contemporary, Zimbabwe traditional, township, jazz, afro, Latino, and a cultural cross-breed of Zimbabwe’s Manica, Mashona and Matabele rhythms and melodies, with energetic stage work, and sizzling vocals.
