Kumawood poster boy Kwaku Manu has alleged that some movie makers tried taking cash from Zylofon Media for their selfish interest when the entertainment company approached them to express interest in helping the dying movie industry.
The top Kumawood star on Agyenkwa FM’s Saturday entertainment show told B Ice, host of the programme that the Zylofon Media before opening their Kumasi office approached some bigwigs in the Kumawood movie industry asking of how they can push money into the system but these people suggested that the money be given to them.
According to him, the leaders whose names he is not ready to mention told the Nana Appiah Mensah-owned company officials that they know some individuals who can develop the dying industry so the money be given to them to frontline the idea.
He continued that Zylofon Media after smelling the egocentric behaviour of the leaders they met ended the meeting and flew back to Accra with their idea and cash to help the Kumawood Movie industry.
“Zylofon Media recently had a meeting with some individuals saying they want to help the Movie industry but some people told them they should give the money to them. The people said they should be given the money so that they can share it to some people. If Zylofon Media had listened to them, they would have thrown their money away.”
The ‘I’m love you’ coiner stressed that there is division in the Movie industry hence each individual fighting for their own interest to survive in life without thinking about the common business of the movie industry at large.
