A Very Cheap Talk From A Whole President

“Did You See Anything In NPP’s 8 Years’? - Pres. Mills Asks.

In what appears to be a response to the incessant calls and pressure on his two years old Government to deliver on its promises, President Mills has questioned Ghanaians what they saw in the eight years regime of the New Patriotic Party.

The President, who was addressing the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Upper East Region, said unlike the previous administration, the NDC will ensure that Ghanaians “see something”.

Speaking about the commercial drilling of oil which is slated to commence in early December 2010, President Mills cautioned Ghanaians to manage their expectations since it will take some time for the oil revenue to accumulate for the necessary development projects.

“In a few weeks, our first oil will come out. But let me set the records straight. At the beginning, the oil will come in bits and things are not going to materialize overnight. I know that the expectations are high and there are people who think that come November or December, Ghana will be washed with oil resources. My brothers and sisters, this is not the case. We have to go gingerly. It will take us sometime to be able to get the oil revenue which we are going to use in the productive sectors of the economy” he assured.

*We came to meet an economy that was not…

*And a lot of people have complained over the past two years, that they are not seeing anything. I ask them, did they see anything in the previous eight years?

*We are determined that you should see something but…

*We would have to remove all the bottlenecks and…

*Thank God we are making headway, but…

*We would not want to deceive you but Judging from…

*I know that we would be able to make a difference…

The President said his administration will make good use of the commitments made by international partners such as China and Japan to pump adequate resources into the Ghanaian economy.

Citing recent concerns of growing insecurity following reports of an alleged mass rape and robbery incident in a Tamale-bound bus, President Mills vowed not to allow instability to derail the proper use of such resources in developing the nation.

“I Atta Mills will not sit down and allow a situation that will retard the progress that we are going to make as a nation” he said.

Professor Mills appealed for unity to move the country forward and deliver her people from the shackles of poverty.

Blaming the Kufuor administration for the woes of the Tema Oil Refinery, President Mills expressed concern about reports that some unscrupulous persons were smuggling petroleum products out of the country.

Oh! My goodness, how can a whole President of Nation address his Countrymen in such a cheap and uncaring way?

It can be clearly deduce from the President’s address in Northern Region at the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Upper East that he is not interested in the security of the Ghanaian People but rather thinking more about how we can secure the oil money. I quote (President Mills: “Citing recent concerns of growing insecurity following reports of an alleged mass rape and robbery incident in a Tamale-bound bus, President Mills vowed not to allow instability to derail the proper use of such resources in developing the nation.”)

Now, where is the so-called “father for all” who promised to care for everybody in the country?

Our so-called father is now only thinking of acquiring loans and getting money from the oil production. I quote (President Mills: “The President said his administration will make good use of the commitments made by international partners such as China and Japan to pump adequate resources into the Ghanaian economy”)

The President having at last admitted that there are insecurities in the country pertaining to Armed Robberies and raping, he is still not even shocked or pushed about how the citizens could be protected. NO! There in the Upper West Region, he was not in the position to assure the Ghanaian people of any guidance and safely but could only say “I Atta Mills will not sit down and allow a situation that will retard the progress that we are going to make as a nation” he said.” You see! The President is only thinking of Money! Money! Money! LOANS & OIL MONEY! What about the life’s of the HUMAN BEINGS in the country which is in danger through Armed Robbers?

Armed Robbers are robbing shooting and causing types raping but Our father could only tell us “Professor Mills appealed for unity to move the country forward and deliver her people from the shackles of poverty”. I think we need life before we can be delivered from shackles of poverty, because a dead people don’t need money.

The most unbelievable and sad thing is that the President Mills and his government is that, the Ghanaian people have voted Kufuor’s government out because they were crooked , for the NDC government to make things straight, why is the Mills government not keeping forward and being in their own line but rather always trying to look back? I quote (“Blaming the Kufuor administration for the woes of the Tema Oil Refinery, President Mills expressed concern about reports that some unscrupulous persons were smuggling petroleum products out of the country.”)

Is it not too much always finding fault with other people? The Ghanaian people have given you the mandate to make things better but not to keep on telling us stories from yesterday. We all know what happened during the ex-presidency and that’s why we voted you but you and your government keep on being “on your marks without getting set to run“, matching time, “beating about the bush” instead of matching and running forward. This governance of “blaming game” cannot never ever bring anything good to the Ghanaian people.

We want to see action that will move the country forward but not “If, When and But”
