The primary objective of any government is to ensure the well-being of its citizens by protecting life and property.

However, the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administrations, spearheaded by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have turned these fundamental principles on their heads.

Ghanaians are facing unprecedented hardship and poverty in the history of this country due to the vampire-like policies of this government.

The NPP administration has sucked life out of the economy, leaving citizens to struggle with the high prices of essential commodities like fuel, drugs, electricity, and many others.

The government's economic policies are akin to a vampire’s administration, draining the blood of the nation.

The Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has demonstrated a callous disregard for the plight of Ghanaians, maintaining a stance of “let them eat cake” while indulging in extravagant spending.

Despite the outcry from citizens, the NPP government remains resolute in its determination to perpetuate hardship and poverty.

The administration's policies are designed to benefit a select few, while the majority are left to suffer.

The protest staged on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, serves as a stark testament to the drastic deterioration of the standard of living in Ghana, particularly among the youth, which has reached a critical and chaotic point.

The situation has plunged the entire country into a state of uncertainty, with no concerted effort to address this pressing issue, except for the perpetuation of corrupt practices that enable cronies and friends to loot the nation’s resources, further exacerbating the crisis.

As a political and human rights activist, I am compelled to speak out against the catastrophic conditions gripping our nation: the exchange rate and interest rate are suffocating businesses, inflation is skyrocketing, especially on food items, and poverty and hardship are rampant.

These dire indicators unequivocally expose the incompetence of the NPP government, which has failed to provide solutions to the country’s pressing challenges.

Their ineptitude is staggering, and it is imperative that we demand accountability and action to address these crises. This scenario bears a striking resemblance to the government led by Akufo-Addo, characterized by the hallmarks of both ‘kakistocracy and kleptocracy’, where incompetence and unscrupulousness converge with corruption and exploitation, ultimately perpetuating a system of self-serving governance.

The time has come for Ghanaians to rise up and demand a government that truly cares for its citizens. We must reject this vampire-like administration and choose a government that prioritizes our well-being, addresses our concerns, and works towards creating a prosperous and equitable society for all.

The upcoming election in December 2024 presents a golden opportunity for Ghanaians to effect change. Let us seize this moment and vote out the NPP government, which has brought nothing but suffering and hardship to the nation. We must not forget the broken promises, the corruption, and the incompetence that have characterized this government’s tenure. It’s time to hold them accountable and choose a government that will restore hope and prosperity to our beloved nation.

Let us march to the poll on December 7, 2024, with a clarion call to end bad governance. Let us vote for a government that will prioritize our needs, address our concerns, and work towards creating a brighter future for all Ghanaians for the Ghana we deserve and want.
