A review of the NDC’s manifesto

With the 2024 general elections less than four months away, the National
Democratic Congress (NDC) and all other political parties are busy drawing up
and launching their manifestos. The NDC has just launched its manifesto for
the upcoming elections. It is important to analyse the content of the manifesto
without prejudice.

After spending some hours scrutinising the content of the manifesto, I am of the view that this is the most comprehensive, inclusive, feasible, inspirational, and practical manifesto since 1992. If Ghanaians vote for the NDC, through this manifesto, the sunshine of hope will break through the clouds of hopelessness, poverty, sickness, and joblessness and lead to a Ghana we strive for and will all be proud of.

The manifesto is full of hope, it resonates with the masses, and it addresses
almost every challenge currently facing Ghanaians. What makes this manifesto unique and exceptional is that it does not only observe and identify the needs of Ghanaians, but it also provides a systematic approach through which those problems can be solved.

In terms of the Economy, the NDC manifesto has provided a clear and concise measure of addressing the economic challenges in this country. In the agriculture sector, the manifesto directly responds to issues identified
in the cocoa subsector, vegetable horticultural production subsector, food
subsector, poultry, and everything around agriculture.

Incredibly, the manifesto was specific and not too generic, it includes
deliberately tailored programs that are designed to address the challenges
within the Ghana Cocoa Board.

The NDC has in the manifesto promised to establish cocoa colleges in all the
cocoa growing regions to educate and train cocoa farmers on how to efficiently
embark on their farming activities. There is also a program for free health
delivery services to all cocoa farmers which will be paid for by the Ghana Cocoa
Board.

Additionally, the manifesto consists of an elaborate plan to revamp the
collapsing poultry industry to boost poultry production and also improve the
meat manufacturing sector. The manifesto is extraordinarily comprehensive touching on the most important issues that impact the living conditions of Ghanaians ranging from food insecurity, food inflation, taxation, exchange rate, and interest rate to issues of national development such as infrastructure, education, health, and the economy.

In general, this is the most elaborate, comprehensive, and inclusive manifesto
ever in this country, it presents measures required to fight corruption, state
capture and achieve good governance, enhance the lives of women, children,
the aged as well as People Living With Disabilities (PWDS).

The content of the manifesto is factually accurate, it represents the
aspiration of all Ghanaians, because the ideas in the manifesto are the
collective views, concerns, and concerns of Ghanaians in different sectors
ranging from teachers, lawyers, Doctors, traditional rulers, farmers, business
owners, nurses, students, traders, journalists, artisans, etc.

Indeed this manifesto has all the blueprint and mechanisms required to reset
this country to the path of growth, development, prosperity, and economic
progress.
