Akufo-Addo Continues To Be Irrelevant!

Feature Article,
by Nana Akyea Mensah, The Odikro.

Isn't it amazing that this old man still pretends that the only problem with Ghana is that he was cheated in the 2012 elections? See: Akufo-Addo tours registration centres in Nsawam, (GNA, Politics of Wednesday, 13 August 2014). You will never hear him talk about any issue of national interest, such as judgement debts, sale of the Electricity Corporation, the attempts by the NDC to impose Genetically Modified Organisms into our food chain, without any attempts at public awareness and participation in the debate! No! You will never hear him talk about Ghana signing the Economic Partnership Agreement, EPA!

Even in the wake of the Ebola, the role of the front-runner of the opposition party ought to be putting the government on its toes in order to make sure things are done properly. The government keeps giving assurances that every thing is in place. Yet when you listen to the key institutions directly working on it such as the Ghana Medical Association are saying "the country will be doomed if there is an outbreak"! The Association insists there is little or nothing on the ground to show the country is ready to fight Ebola!

Where is the opposition in all this? Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo is again missing in action! He is busy inspecting voters' registration! If you can't trust your polling agents, how is he going to supervise the elections? Does he even remotely believe that his physical presence at the registration centre will make any difference?

This is a childish as it is tiring! Which Ghanaian has any time for a ridiculous clown inspecting registration centres? We need an intelligent President who can articulate the fears and pains of the people and focused on addressing them! God bless our nation Ghana, Africa and the whole world!

Sincerely,
Nana Akyea Mensah, The Odikro.
