“The NPP says it care less about how its opponent would want to interpret the
Flagbearer’s [Nana Akufo-Addo] tribute to the late Theresa Amerley Tagoe. In the
said tribute to the late Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency,
Akufo-Addo referred to Volta Hall, the all-female hall at the University of
Ghana as ‘the cynosure of all healthy young males at Legon.’ Akufo- Addo
continued in his tribute that ‘it was during our time at Legon that for the rest
of her life, I came to call her ‘Bottoms’ as against the more familiar ‘TT.’ The
origin of the nickname will continue to remain confidential between us’”
(Ghanaweb, February 2, 2011).
The NPP must care
Nana Akufo-Addo
Owner of sexual metaphors
Cacophonic metaphors
Of mental masturbation
Of fermented sexual ego
NPP “care less”
NPP must care
NPP should care
NPP should speak truth to all
NPP should speak truth to SEXISM
Truth to the objectification of women
Nana Akufo-Addo
His soaring eloquence
His seductive narrative
His serenading perversion
His estranged categorizing
But Lady Theresa Tagoe slept
Oblivious of his silly “soliloquy”
Oblivious of his vapid bravado
Of his fermented sexual imagery
Of his intellectual masturbation
Lady Tagoe was a flower of the past
A flower of the CYNOSURE-ED pit
The province called Volta Hall
Patriarchalized as an orgiastic pit
By men like Akufo-Addo
The NPP must care
Akufo-Addo is wrapped
In pedagogies of sex
In a federated moral chaos
In fermented desires
In a discredited sexual pose
In a prison of traumatic orgies
The NPP must care
Not to objectify women
Women’s bottom
Breasts
Lips
Legs
The NPP must care
Akufo-Addo’s Bottomizing”
Whether big
Flat
Wide
Small
Large
Square
Falling
Sacred
Secular
Hanging
Dropping
Rectangular
Shouldn’t be in a tribute
Not on the national stage
The NPP must care
NPP you should care
Akufo-Addo is on a precipice
Akufo-Addo’s lose tongue
Of patriarchy
Of objectifying women
Of non-decorum
Of non-respectability
Of non-politesse
Political debit-ing
Akufo-Addo’s tongue
His Freudian-slips
His political train-wreck
His aging testosterones
His fermented sexual ego
Ah! His ideas are sour
The NPP must care
Speak truth to all
Truth to Akufo-Addo
His sexual imageries
His sexual references
His sexual buffoonery
Withering pedagogies of sex
And he is federating moral chaos
