Alan Kyeremanten, What Are You Doing to Nana Akufo Addo?: Rejoinder

Regarding the Ghanaweb articles published Friday, 28 May 2010 titled “ Alan Kyeremanten, What Are You Doing to Nana Akufo Addo? “ Here’s my question: why do you think the NPP members across both this nation and outside the nation expect our presidential candidate to play superman? This 70 –year- old man Akufo Addo who likes to deflect attention from his drug addiction, from his use of NPP campaign monies to buy a Mercedes Benz for his girl- friend, a student attending the university of Ghana, and from his violent nature is not what the U.P. traditional members need to elect as their flag-bearer.

This so- called idiot Daniel K. Pryce, who claims to hold a master’s degree in public administration from George Mason University; in U.S.A is a disgrace to academics. I found it very disturbing from these Ghanaians illiterates who always tout their mushroom education titles in the media when they speak on behalf of their 70- year- old Akufo Addo, who himself has a third rate economics degree, need to go back to where they begun their elementary school and learn some common sense before they speak. This other idiotic so-called PhD holder Agambilla Gysika is one of them. I have a message for him: why can’t you use your poetry farm PhD degree to advise your Akufo Addo to go to the media and defend his drug addiction charges and also return all NPP 2008 campaign money back to the party. YOUR ALL ARE WELCOME TO MY WORLD. Come again next time and you will know where this idiot comes from. This feeble minded Deniel K Pryce, is now saying what? Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen is an intelligent, smart, Visionary, energetic, futuristic, affable leader who will use its economic skills to advance the nation’s current account systems. He will accomplish this by increasing productivity, across the board thereby increasing the nation’s Gross Domestic Product GDP and the Gross National Product (GNP) from its current equilibrium. He should drop out from the race. Your 70- year- old man Akufo Addo knucklehead is a man without any innovative ideas, without vision, without economic record or good academic record to show to the nation under his seven years of Kufuor administration. Only an idiot could make such statements that Alan should dropout from the race. However, I don’t know what they thought of this impudent at his George Mason University for him to claim that he has a master’s degree. Or perhaps this nonentity thinks Ghanaians who come to Ghanaweb are illiterate like himself. What a shame.

Deniel K Pryce went on to say “That is a noble goal by Mr. Kyeremanten, but I believe that his decision to seek the Ghanaian presidency in 2012 is impractical and imprudent. If history is our guide – and history ought to be, in most cases! – every true member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would admit that Nana Akufo-Addo deserves another chance as the NPP’s flag-bearer in the 2012 presidential elections. Alan Kyeremanten ought to simply wait until the time is right for him”. For your lack of Knowledge: in politics it is not about how long one has been in the party or what he or she has contributed to the party for one to be nominated unopposed. A party’s presidential candidate position is based on competition among individuals who are deemed qualified to compete for such a position within the party; it is about a person who has innovative ideas, professional records, service to society, economic knowledge and most importantly one who has the interest of the nation and the people at heart. Your 70- year- old man Akufo Addo is aware of all these aforementioned reasons; he also knows that the traditional U.P. leadership position is always about competition. So what is your beef?

However based on the party’s history nobody has ever told his opponent to dropout from the race. If you don’t know this then you don’t need to write any stupid article on behalf of your 70- year- old washed up political hero Akufo Addo. This foolhardy Daniel K. Pryce claimed he lives in America. In America the political parties do not pick their presidential candidate based on long membership within the party. They don’t even like those who are these so-called party’s establishment candidates. If not the Democratic Party would have handed the 2008 presidential candidacy to the Clintons. Because after Bill Clinton’s presidency he and his wife became icons of the Democratic Party and they were the leaders of Democratic Party before Obama became a senator. Obama competed with Hillary Clinton, the party’s establishment candidate, and won the democratic nomination hands down. Your claimed that Alan has not merely political ambition but has egocentric political ambitions more than your Akufo Addo. Just read the U.P. tradition history below and find out your self who has ambition within the party more than your 70- Year- old man Akufo Addo

Nananum, ladies and gentleman many NPP members who are under 40 years old and do not know the history of McCarthy Hill need to know this history. The question is what happened at McCarthy Hill. After Busia’s administration was overthrown, the U.P. traditional council of elders decided to form a party in which meetings were convened by Akwsi Amankwah Afrifa, William Ofori Attah, Victor Owusu, RR Amponsah, Alhaji Tollarnaa, the top U.P. gurus at that time. Even Kufuor was not invited at that time. J.H Mensah is my witness. They called Kofi Abrafa Busia in England asking him who was supposed to lead the party before the 1979 general election. Busia said Victor Owusu should lead the U.P. tradition party. This Akufo Addo and his uncle William Ofori Attah and his Akyem cronies said no. As a result of this Akufo Addo and his Uncle Williams Ofori Attah left the U.P. tradition and formed their own party the UNC. So this so-called Daniel K. Pryce should explain to Ghanaians how a person such as this Akufo Addo deserves to lead a tradition that he and his Uncle destroyed in 1979.

During the 1979 general elections the UP traditional Party the Popular Front Party (PFP) won 31 % in the general Election. Akufo Addo and his uncle Paa Willi got 18% for the (UNC) CPP/ PNP had 35 % of total votes. As a result of this none of the parties had 51 % of general votes and so they went to the second round in which this Akufo Addo came out openly to campaign for CPP/ PNP urging their supporters to vote CPP/ PNP instead of U.P. (PFP) knowing this history who in his right mind will support this Akufo Addo whose presence has become a cancer to this U.P. tradition? If you don’t know the history of this UP organization, you better stop your stupidness and your idiotic character assassination and insults against Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen. Alan will be the next president in Ghana whether you people like it or not.
