All That Is Necessary For Evil To Triumph…

The utterances of some NPP youths in recent times leave much to be desired. But their utterances are not as dangerous as the silence that is emanating from certain quarters that should have at least be speaking up condemning them by now.

It is really strange how the Ghana Bar Association, the TUC, NUGS, GNAT, National House of Chiefs, the Christian Council, the Catholic Bishops Conference and other identifiable groups almost always see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil when a matter concerns the NPP but fall over each other to issue statements and condemn the NDC if the same matter concerns the umbrella party.

Be that as it may, we wish to remind the so-called moral society that if the seeds of the reckless talk being planted by NPP youths begin to bear fruits, they too will partake in the eating of the fruits.

The age old story of the bird, the climbing plant and the tortoise should be enough lessons for all. The climbing plant who will not heed the tortoise’s advice that it should advice the bird to stop disturbing also suffered the day the hunter entered the forest, shot and killed the bird which fell by the tortoise; for, the hunter cut the climbing plant to tie the bird and the tortoise together.

Let the so-called moral society also be reminded by Edmund Burke’s assertion that "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
