Dear Sir/Madam,
I write to respond to a feature article on your esteem website with the title "Another Reason For The NDC Government To Blow Money" which appeared on Saturday on your website.
First of all I want to congratulate Ghana for going this far in the Orange African Cup of Nations in Angola. Only a hand few of Ghanaians including the GFA President, did believe that Ghana could go this far.
I think Mr Tawiah, the writer needs a tap on the back for been so concern about the well being of Ghanaians. My problem with his piece is its title. As if the NDC government is always looking for reasons to "blow" money. Why didn´t he give us more of such reasons used in the past to "blow" money? However the writer could be pardoned because he is not writting an academic peace. Also the writer tried to enumerate the major burning problems affecting Ghanaians that are given deaf ears and left unttended to. Since when did we have those problems and how soon did he expect the Mills led NDC government to solve all these "burning problems"? Why couldn´t he see the little that the government is doing with regards to feeder roads and some few other areas? Let me also mention that, this offer from the government, in my oppinion is very important and wise.
For all you know, in todays´s world, development is not measured just on the the number of Feeder Roads but also on the satifaction and happiness of the people. Can you imagine how these fortunate few - most of whom have never left the shores of Ghana and who are not just NDC members - will feel when they return to their respective communities especially as African Champions? It is time we think develoipment in an African sense and stop being brainwashed. For Mr Tawiah, it is more important to sleep in a room with electric heater, but let me remind him of GERMAN 2006. A lot of Ghanaians especially those living in Germany started walking tall
including myself after the World cup because of what Ghana did in Germany. I was in tha Studia to watch all Ghana games and I remember having to "outsmart" the German Police in Nuerember, so that I could come down from my a higher cost category to join the "samunbo" or the singing group. That was Ghana against USA. The lives and behavior of many Ghanaians changed after the World Cup. Where were you Mr Tawiah? May be not yet in Germany.
Football today, is development and I call on all and sundry including Tawiah to let us pray and sing "Oseyie Ghana" for the black stars to victory today.
Yours,
