Boakye-Agyarko Is Right-On-Target, Dr. McHyprocrite!

Once again, I hate going to bat for Akufo-Addo's 2012 Presidential Campaign Manager, Mr. Boakye-Agyarko, solicited or unsolicited. But in this instance, I have been compelled by the unconscionable sophistry of the eternally disgruntled Dr. McHypocrite to weigh in on the side of truth and fairness (See "Boakye Agyarko Misfires Again" Ghanaweb.com 7/28/14). Anyway, why does Dr. McHypocrite think that the Akufo-Addo camp has a bounden obligation to apologize for the cynical misdeeds of Mr. Alan John Kwadwo "Quitman" Kyerematen?

I am not here to quibble over whether the use of the adjective "incredulous" was aptly appropriated by Dr. McHypocrite, except to suggest that the objective truth cannot be changed or flagrantly falsified by the mere twisting of the same in cyberspace. I mean, why has the Kyerematen camp - whose sniping Generalissimo is Dr. McHypocrite - chosen to focus on the role or lack thereof of their hero/icon in Election 2012, instead of the even more critical Election 2008, when the Cash Man rudely walked out on both the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (and, in effect half of the Ghanaian electorate) and the latter's Presidential Candidate as well.

As I vividly recall, at the time, the "Handsome Giant" claimed in his widely publicized resignation letter that his political mission was over and above - or far suprior to - the parochial interests and aspirations of the entire membership of the country's largest opposition party. Mr. Kyerematen, who then envisaged his ideological purview to be coextensive with the nation at large was, however, "humble" enough to earnestly solicit the official endorsement of President John Dramani Mahama for his deservedly failed bid for the secretary-generalship of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

His WTO interviewers very likely had observed the same wanton and insufferable streak of arrogance that Ghanaians saw Mr. Kyerematen so artfully exhibit before the venerable likes of Messrs. Akenten Appiah-Menkah and B. J. Da Rocha, among a host of other party movers and shakers. Actually, what is ironic is the fact that Mr. Kyerematen would flatly reject his own political party, on grounds of its supposedly parochial ideological purview but, somehow, find legitimacy in the solicited endorsement of another leader who had been catapulted into the seat of governance - or the presidency - (you guessed right) by another political party with the same parochial ideological interests and aspirations that Mr. Kyerematen so disdained.

Or would Messrs. McHypocrite and Kyerematen also make a special pleading on behalf of the trans-partisanship of the Rawlings-minted and mob-oriented National Democratic Congress? In other words, if the Mahama-led government of the National Democratic Congress has more legitimate claims to the career aspirations and political ambitions of Mr. Kyerematen and Dr. McHypocrite, why are these men still trucking with the membership of the NPP? My unabashed contention here is that the Treasure-Hunting Dr. McHypocrite and his patent political mascot are contractually sworn to staying put in the NPP, under false pretences, of course, in order to ensure that an Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party remains on the gray margins of political opposition in perpetuity. We only have to investigate and find out exactly how much these "gentlemen" were paid by the other side.

Then also, it is rather preposterous for anybody to fathom that Mr. Boakye-Agyarko would have facilely let his guard down by giving electioneering-campaign free rein to Akufo-Addo's most inveterate internal political opponent. I have also decided to pass up the probable constitutional criminality of political funding solicitation from foreign sources, as Dr. McHypocrite accuses his icon of have committed. Then also, on the Tain, Brong-Ahafo, campaign abandonment question, I prefer to simply and tersely observe the fact that Nana Akufo-Addo is as humanly fallible as former President John Agyekum-Kufuor, the man whose first published National Merit Honors List gapingly omitted the name of the 2008 presidential candidate of his own party. Intriguingly, that first list also contained the names of Capt. Kojo Tsikata, then-Candidate John Evans Atta-Mills and John Dramani Mahama.

Really, there are no innocents or choir boys here, if the dear reader were to ask the same of me.
