The loss of my beloved father, Rev. George Owusu Mensah, is one I will carry for a lifetime. His passing has left a void that words cannot fill, but as we prepare to lay him to rest, I find comfort in celebrating the extraordinary life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind.

Rev. George Owusu Mensah was not just a father to me but a father to many. As the Senior Pastor of Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi, he shepherded his congregation with love, humility, and an unwavering commitment to God’s work.

He was a man who lived by faith, inspiring those around him to seek and trust the Lord wholeheartedly.

Beyond his ministry, my father was a celebrated gospel musician whose songs continue to uplift and inspire countless lives. His hit song Matwen Awurade Anim remains a powerful reminder of the importance of waiting on the Lord.

Through music, he preached messages of hope, faith, and perseverance, touching hearts in ways words alone could not.

For me, growing up under his guidance was an incredible blessing. His faith and dedication shaped not only my character but also my career. Inspired by his love for gospel music, I followed in his footsteps, striving to use my gift to glorify God and touch lives as he did.

My father’s passion for ministry and music continues to guide me, and I am deeply grateful for the foundation he laid.

As we reflect on his life, I am reminded of the countless lives he impacted not just through his sermons and music but also through his kindness, wisdom, and humility. He was a man of integrity, a mentor to many, and a pillar of strength for his family and community.

Though he is no longer with us in the physical, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the example he set. I celebrate him not only as my father but as a servant of God who ran his race with faith and finished strong.

Daddy, I miss you deeply, but I take solace in knowing you are with the Lord you loved and served so faithfully. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, and your legacy will endure forever. Rest well in the arms of your Maker, and know that your family, your church, and your music will continue to honour you.
