Fellow Ghanaian electorates, please hear me. Most of us, if not all, vote in elections in the hope of choosing better candidates to represent us in parliament or to manage the affairs of the country for our collective best interests. Isn’t it?
Now that we are stuck with democracy and required to periodically elect representatives and presidents to manage the affairs of the country on our behalf, I shall call on you, fellow Ghanaians, to make the best choices by voting to elect better candidates.
The country is going to the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect both parliamentarians and a president to manage the affairs of the country for the next four years. I shall therefore plead with all electorates to set aside their personal emotions and to weigh all candidates without any prejudice or bias in a manner that seeks to achieve the best for the country and themselves.
You, the electorate, are to consider who and how best we can achieve the best long-term goals for the country.
Yes, there is no doubt in my mind and yours that most, if not all, Ghanaian politicians, especially members of parliament and the presidents, are corrupt. They almost always defeat the purpose of their election once they get elected. They fail to serve us but rather have themselves served.
In all these situations, we may have some that are less evil than others. We may have some who are visionary, thoughtful, dynamic, dedicated, and seriously desire to render untainted service to their people and country.
This candidly expressed view of mine is better stated by the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle. He taught, and I quote, “Trying to achieve moral virtue is not easy. If you must pick between two extremes, choose “the lesser of two evils,” because that’s likelier to bring you to the desired middle way.”
Therefore, Ghanaians going to the polls on December 7, 2024, are being asked to vote for Dr. Bawumia/NAPO of the NPP over Mr. John Mahama/Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang of the NDC.
If we shall be honest with ourselves without any shred of doubt in our minds, or wool pulled over our eyes and wax studded in our ears, it is obvious that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has the best interests of Ghana at heart more than his opponent, John Dramani Mahama.
Dr. Bawumia can best be described as an innovator, farsighted, visionary, dynamic, well-focused, and more dedicated to serving his nation in honesty than his policy-deficient opponent, Mr. John Dramani Mahama. This fact is glaringly written on the walls, empirically observable, and proven.
Can Mr. Mahama play his tribal trump card this time around, asking the northerners to vote for him because he is of their tribal extraction, as he did in his previous elections? No, and no! Why? It’s because his competing political rival is also of the same tribal extraction as him.
It is not good enough to seek political office by whipping up the emotions or tribal sentiments of the electorate but rather to campaign on policies and programmes that one can realise for the nation if given the chance to rule.
Anyone with good policies will not seek to campaign or ride on tribal sentiments and lies to win an election, but those with fatuous ideas do.
Folks, please vote for Dr. Bawumia, aka Mr. Digital, and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka NAPO. They stand taller in all positive attributes than Mr. John Dramani Mahama; hence, they are the lesser evil in this game when compared with the NDC folks.
Attacking the personality of NAPO as the NDC and their agents and assigns cloaked as Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are doing will not wash. Such is the trait of losers who are without clear messages for how to run a nation successfully.
Once again, I plead with the Ghanaian electorates to not fall into the traps set by the NDC and their chief liar, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, for they have no credible policies and programmes for the nation.
