Control your mouth

It’s sad to know that lots of people are the cause of their problems, they are their own enemies, all because they don't know how to control their mouth.

They have become parrots in life, they talk way too much yet they can't fly high in life. They are either talking about someone or talking about themselves to others; forgetting that what makes you smiles, makes someone else sad.

They unknowingly sell themselves to their enemies and later wonder why they are going through what they are going though.

One of the things that irritate me so much is people having personal and romantic telephone conversation in public places and buses at the top of their voice. Why can't we control our mouth? When some people are in love do they lose their intelligence also? What kind of conversation can’t wait for a more private place?

God in His infinite wisdom designed us in a way best fit for His purpose, yet we to go by that.
We have two eyes and just one tongue, which means we need to look twice and talk once, same way we have two ears and just one mouth, so we need to listen more than we talk. Isn't it amazing?

Someone sent me a sad message yesterday, about how her boyfriend dumped her for her close friend. What hurt her most was she had told her friend everything that transpired in her relationship.

Well, if she has been reading my messages, she might know by now, not everyone is a friend. A friend who understands your tears is much more valuable the many who only know your smile; a friend who understands your tears won’t betray you so.

Human beings make up stories and fellow humans believe it, how much more when you tell them yourself. The damage is done now and worst this friend can only say sorry, yet that means nothing when the heart is hurt.

"Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut" - Proverbs 10:19 (NLT)

You have to do what is right for you. No one else is walking in your shoes. Your words are your own creation and every time you open your mouth, you show the world a glimpse into who you really are.

Take care of your words when you are with people. Love yourself as much as you want to be loved, and remember people will come and go in your life, but the person in the mirror will be there forever. So be good to yourself by learning how to control your mouth.

The fact that someone smiles at you or is nice to you, doesn't mean you should pour yourself out to them. We are like balloons filled with emotions in a world full of pins. Always keep this in mind, Gossip ends at a wise person's ears.

In conclusion "Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent" - Proverbs 17:28 (ESV)
