Dr. Nkrumah Was Not Brutal A Dictator – Final Part

I will write more than SIX MILLION pages in defense of the late Dr, Kwame Nkrumah-The Star of Africa in my capacity as a former Young Pioneer Cadre from 1959-1966. It is very amazing how many historians and political commentators on the continuing difficulties that dog the path of Ghana’s development as a United country fail to draw any analytical attention to this event, minor as it seemed, but of momentous importance in understanding what actually happened to the political process during these crucial transition years. It set the stage for the most violent Political Upheavals in the life of this nation. These Upheavals were started by the dreamed National Liberation Movement (NLM) in Kumasi and Kyebi where a bloody Ethnic Cleansing took place leaving thousands of innocent men, women and children clubbed to death, hacked with matchets to death or shot with guns between 1951, 1954 and 1956 when the NLM lost all the general elections to the well organized grass root CPP led by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of blessed memory. These Upheavals whose echoes were heard in 1969 and 1979 when the so-called Western democratic experiments were repeated with elaborately-worded constitutions that seemed to be gifts from SAINTS, SCHOLARS and LAWYERS who failed to realize that chains of degrees awarded to people from the Universities does not make one a good politician at all. This is because my wife who completed Standard Seven in 1978 could have ruled Ghana with flying colours more than Dr. Busia from 1969-1972 because he was not prepared to rule the country at all. Out of the remnants of the UGCC, Dr. K.A. Busia launched the Ghana Congress Party (GCP) declaring as its aim to supply an effective opposition to the CPP government not knowing that the aim was not as he claimed. It was rather an aim in pursuit of which BOMBS will be thrown into CPP political rallies which were massively attended and where innocent men, women and school children will die in their numbers and ultimately, the opposed government of the CPP will be over thrown on 24th February, 1966. In the aftermath of this, Professor Busia will then return from a C.I.A financed exile in Leiden, Holland and assume his role as a “democratic” leader over a traumatized country. The CPP had been under threat from Feudal Tyranny led by intellectual snobs, traitors, saboteurs and murderers right from 1951 to 1966. They were all serving the cause of local Feudal despotism. Mr.Sarpong Justice, I am giving you a free political education for you to know that NPP is the originator of political violence and tribalism in Ghana. Dr. Busia’s tone during the 1956 general elections was obviously one of threat of civil war and secession, a tone clear enough for the CPP to grasp as a Warning of the Tumult TO COME. His assumption of moral superiority was not supported by the conduct of his party either in the matter of violence or the use of money as a political weapon or in the use of INTIMIDATIONS, THREATS, INVOCATIONS OF OATHS and such other “traditional” power upon its opponents. His threats to resort to extra Parliamentary means to meet the “EVIL’ of a CPP victory provided an uncertainty which ended in the violent over throw of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah on 24th February, 1966 , Ghana ‘s Day of Shame - Busia would have redeemed his pledge to exorcise the CPP “EVIL” Dr. Nkrumah tabled his famous Motion of Destiny on 3rd August 1956 after having thrashed Dr. Busia and his United Party again for the 3rd time asking for Self Government, but out of pique at not winning the elections, all the opposition parties led by United Party boy cotted the debate but it went alright. The government won the Motion by 72 votes to zero. The British government accepted the CPP Government‘s request for independence and in turn agreed to grant the Gold Coast its independence on March 6th 1957 led by Dr. Nkrumah the Peoples’ Man. By January 1957, the government published a White Paper which promulgated the new constitution for an independent Ghana on 6th March 1957 to the annoyance of Busia and his killers in the United Party. That was 113 years after the signing of the bond of 1844 between some Chiefs in the South and the British and 476 years after the Portuguese asked for permission to build a Castle at Eguafo State in what became known as the town of Elmina today. Ghana chose its national flag of Red, for the Blood of the Martyrs who were our Fore fathers, Ancestors, Gold for the wealth, Green for our forests and Land, the Black Star in the center representing the Freedom of Africa.
Is anybody littering? I shall return when the need arise. I am done ‘Jaanbie Iwail” Aluta Continua!
