Dunes of departure

In the vast, sun-scorched land where history whispers

through the endless dunes of the Sahel,

a quiet exodus unfolds—

a delicate fracture in the ancient covenant,

as states step away from a collective embrace.

Under the relentless gaze of the scorching sun,

unity once forged in shared dreams

now splinters like fragile glass,

each shard reflecting a yearning

for paths untrodden, for voices unbound.

The desert winds, messengers of change,

carry murmurs of newfound resolve,

as borders blur like mirages

and the promise of autonomy shimmers

on the horizon of an uncertain dawn.

In the wake of this silent departure,

the heartbeat of the Sahel beats with a raw intensity,

echoing the age-old rhythm of survival—

a call to reclaim identity,

to write destiny with the language of wind and sand.

So, in the tender embrace of a new beginning,

the exodus whispers of hope and sorrow intertwined,

as nations, like lone travellers on ancient routes,

venture into the vast unknown,

leaving behind a tapestry of shared memories

and stepping boldly into the realm of self-determination.
