Have you seen this? Wow, did he really say this? He can't be serious with what he is saying! These and many other questions and reactions are warranted when you see emotionally charged and sensationalized online content as we prepare for the December 7th elections. The problem is, much of this information turns out to be false.

People are sharing false information intentionally, such as fake quote cards that bear the logo and features of credible news outlets. This issue of "Information Disorder," often referred to as "Fake News," is a serious problem that will only get worse as we draw closer to the elections.

You must be very cautious and critical about the information you consume online. The disinformation actors have a clear agenda - to tarnish the image of their targets and sway voter decisions. And they are not backing down anytime soon, so you have to be vigilant not to fall prey to their tactics.

Stop sharing content without verifying it first. Check the sources, look for inconsistencies, and seek out multiple reputable outlets before forming an opinion or hitting that share button. Resist the urge to spread emotionally charged or sensationalized claims, as these are often hallmarks of disinformation campaigns. Let the agenda stop with you!

Remember, the stakes are high. The disinformation actors are counting on us to let our guard down so they can spread their agenda. But we have the power to break this cycle. By being vigilant, verifying information, and resisting the temptation to share without due diligence, we can prevent the spread of falsehoods and protect the integrity of our democratic process.

Together, we can ensure the December 7th elections are a true reflection of the will of the people, untainted by those who seek to undermine our democracy. Stay informed, be critical, and don't let disinformation sway your vote.
