Free Market Mass Poverty Not CPP History is Central Issue

Free Market anti-democratic mass poverty is the most important issue in Ghana today.

For the coming elections the choice for the electorate is which party has the will and courage to implement policies in line with the 1992 Constitution Chapter 6:34(1) that shall transform Ghana into a just and free society. But instead of addressing this central issue of poverty and policies for wealth for all, Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe has been telling us something more sinister.

He has been telling us that as the Free Market paid Afrifa, Harley and Kotoka $USD 13,000,000 to overthrow the CPP in 1966, so is it ready today to pay another set of Ghanaian traitors and rebels at least as much. This is the meaning of his pieces entitled ‘CPP is a Dirty Party by Design’ and ‘CPP is no Peacemaker!’ – www.ghanaweb.com, 1 & 4/2/2008. Ghana, watch out, Kenya is at your door!

The three poverty political questions are, Can the NDC, which believes in the liberal free market, deliver a just and free society? Can the NPP, which believes in a conservative free market, deliver a just and free society? Can the CPP, which traditionally believed in a progressive democratised market deliver a just and free society? We assume the Nkrumaist parties all believe in the traditional position of Kwame Nkrumah’s CPP. These are the main choices the electorate face.

There are CPP people who support Nana Akuffo-Addo as there are CPP people who also support John Atta-Mills. It means CPP supporters vote for a liberal free market party or a conservative free market party in an election. The formers call themselves social democrats and the latter call themselves liberal democrats. CPP then has plenty social democrats and liberal democrats in it: strange, but true. And stranger is the fact that Ghanaians (and Nkrumaists) supposedly support the anti-free and unjust Free Market Ideology, which is responsible for engendering their poverty.

Clearly, there is confusion and corruption in the political economic sphere for all to see. It is in this state of confusion that a Journalist called Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe decides to use his journalistic skills to creatively re-write the history of Ghana in favour of Free Market violence. Indeed, he describes himself as a professor of English, Journalism and Creative Writing. So he wrote very creative diatribes against CPP; you would think he hails from Mars:

First, he said the CPP was unarguably, the most divisive, dictatorial, extortionate, wasteful and destructive political party and government in the history of postcolonial Ghana.

Second, he describes CPP as ramshackle institutional apparatus of the rump-CPP.

Third, he said the CPP ended up not only bankrupting the Ghanaian economy but even more significantly, cavalierly trampling the fundamental human rights of Ghanaians: and by 1963 the CPP had literally run the robust Ghanaian economy aground.

Fourth, he said the CPP practically undermined the very basis of Ghana’s body politic.

Fifth, he said CPP did untold damage to the African Personality.

Sixth, he said that the history of CPP is indisputably one of a brazen one-party dictatorship.

Seventh, he said CPP visited untold socio-economic, political, and cultural atrocities on Ghanaians during the First Republic 1960-1966.

Eighth, he said CPP has a deleterious and regressive ideology.

Ninth, he said the politics of bitterness and anger was sown and brazenly nurtured by Nkrumah-led CPP.

Tenth, he said the CPP was the first to introduce political division in Ghana and that the CPP was founded on opportunistic political division and that it was the first to initiate and unconstitutionally execute deportation orders against Ghanaian-born citizens of immigrant parents.

So supposing all these are true but Ghanaians vote into office the CPP under the leadership of Paa Kwesi Ndoum? After all, the CPP was prevented from transforming the structure of the Ghanaian economy in the 1960s. The (P)NDC came to adjust it structurally for the benefit of the free market in the 1980s. The NPP have since been managing it; the NPP even pride themselves on being better managers of the Free Market Disorder than NDC in the 2000s.

So supposing all these are really true; and justify the anti-democratic coup of 24th February 1966; assuming that CPP committed all these evils which is attributed to it, what have all these got to do with addressing the poverty of Ghanaians by creating a just and free society now!

Clearly, Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe pieces are a diversion from the issue of poverty in Ghana today. And that is his objective till the election.

Since Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe’s scripts have nothing do with creating wealth for all, the question is whose organised interest is he pushing? To find out, his scripts give us all the right anti-democratic clues. Three vital evidences in his pieces make that clear.

First he said military coups have appeal to him. Second, he said proscribing the names of political parties was in order. Third, coup-makers like E. K. Kotoka are expedient and immortal Ghanaian heroes.

In short, he is saying that he supports politically motivated violence to advance the organised interest of a privileged few. The most privileged few then were some Chiefs, some business people and Free Market Elites like J.B. Danquah above all - in short economic inequality and mass poverty today.

What does this mean? It means that if the CPP were to win the 2008 elections against all the odds which some leading Pro-Nkrumaists have said is impossible, people like Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe will be prepared to support a coup in Ghana against the CPP. This is why those who are screaming that Kenya is not possible in Ghana are simply living in a fools’ paradise.

It is in order to justify such a coup in the possible eventuality of a CPP victory however farfetched that Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe has creatively manufactured all these lies against CPP. The Free Market is preparing the ground to rig elections in Ghana. So lets understand that the fraudulent Free Market knows no law beyond its own interests.

Those three vital evidence conclusively then locate Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe as a dangerous Conservative Right perhaps even psychotic in his support of violence. That means he is not far from the White House neo-conservatives that invaded Iraq upon the tissue of lies and have been proven to be serial liars.

It must therefore be clear to Ghanaians that there are those in Ghana who are against the NDC coming into office. But there are also more dangerous Conservative Right ideologues who are once again prepared to use anti-Constitution coups, murder, lawlessness, terrorism and impunity as political tools to anti-democratically impose their minority views on Ghana.

Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe is one of those Free Market Conservative Right ideologues prepared to support killing and the mass violation of human rights to either achieve political power or prevent majority rule in Ghana.

This is why such men who will support treason –such Free Market Ideologues - are very dangerous.
