Friendly Statement To NPP Rubble-Rousers

BY THE UNITED CADRE FRONT (UCF) – TEMA REGION

T he continuous utterances of agitation by leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has again elicited a reaction from the United Cadre Front of the National Democratic Congress in the Tema region. In a statement released in Tema, dated January 29, 2013, the group said:

“Barely two weeks ago when we had good reasons to respond to some negative undertakings by the NPP, we are again, able to restrain ourselves from descending into the gutter with them, but can only do so by sending this signal to all PEACE-LOVING Ghanaians, be they NPP or NDC.

“We refer to last Sunday’s “LET-YOUR-VOTE-COUNT” ‘rally-of-agitation’ at Dome-Kwabenya which was addressed by no less personalities – but people who profess to be academically well-baked.

“To us, the statements that came from the so-called leading members of the NPP, signify nothing but treason at the highest understanding of the word. We find it difficult taking their stance for a joke when one of them stated that when they start “…BOMBING schools burning cars and killing people…” the international community would then realize how serious they are about the declared results of the 7th December polls.
“The “BOMBING” emphasis is a confession by the NPP that they pre-meditated on bombing of schools… and maybe other VITAL public installations to cause disaffection for the government of President John Dramani Mahama. We cannot rule out suspecting the NPP having a role in the current spate of fire outbreaks which has become a problem for this government.
“We see this as yet – another reckless statement not coming from low-keyed supporters of the NPP, but men of letters who should be tutoring their less fortunate brothers, sisters, sons and daughters who have not had good education to cherish PEACE.
“It has always been the position of the UNITED CADRE FRONT to advocate for PEACE – and shall strife to stand by the principle of POSITIVE ENGAGEMENT. That is why we feel it duty-bound to engage our colleague supporters on the other side of the political divide to always consider the BEAUTY-OF-PEACE, as against the UGLY looks of POLITICAL/CIVIL VIOLENCE.
“However, we wish to express our disappointment in National Security for not moving immediately to arrest the gentleman who spoke about bombings at the NPP’s rally dubbed “LET-MY-VOTE-COUNT”. Such inaction of the past is what has emboldened the NPP to keep acting in manners that can derail the PEACE of this country.
“It first happened when Kwadjo Mpiani was invited to the Bereau of National Investigations (BNI) when leading members of the NPP rallied their supporters to the fore-court of the BNI – banging the gates and blocking access roads to the place by burning vehicle tyres. Following that was the Stephen Asamoah Boateng’s episode.
“The mother of such violent acts of lawlessness by the NPP was when the APOSTLE leading member of foul-mouthed politicians, Mr. Kennedy Agyepong urged Akans to attack Voltarians and Gas in this country. Upon his arrest, the NPP leadership massed-up rogue supporters to invade the Police Headquarters smashing vehicles on sight. Surprisingly no arrest was made
“These two examples, plus others not mentioned here – made National Security and its subordinate agencies in the sight of the NPP – ‘WEAK’, with fangs which have no venom to bite and poison.
“We view this ‘WEAKNESS’ by the security agency as very dangerous for this country – because sooner than later, others can only join the fray by lawless reactions to negative political settings by the NPP.
“By this statement, we wish to caution that our persuation to supporters of the NPP to read through the ‘anarchical’ mindsets of their leadership, is to forestall defacing MOTHER-GHANA with blood. But if it is not headed and National Security does not act – then…” the statement concluded.
