The ongoing expansion works between Kasoa and Ewetu-Senya on the Mallam Cape-Coast highway, though isn't completed yet, the chronic head-to-tail gridlock which that section had, for ages, gained notoriety and caused motorists untold misery, has now been completely eliminated.

Between Kasoa and Ewetu-Senya junction, a distance of not more than 15km, hitherto, had always taken me more than 3hours. Because of that, I had difficulty making a return journey to and from my hometown, Enyan-Denkyira in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam constituency of the Central Region of Ghana.

But today, I was able to make a return journey to and from my constituency, within a matter of 3hours; a trip that before now, would've taken me over 12hours. Indeed, visiting my hometown was a headache due to the endemic crazy gridlock. This, unquestionably, is a great relief to the Central Region.

Again, at Tetegu junction, a section between Weija junction and Old barrier on the Mallam West Hills Mall stretch, was riddled with potholes and undulating surfaces, which created traffic jams due to snail paced motorists had to go. But drive by today, and place had been asphalted.

Indeed, traveling to my hometown which used to be a nightmarish experience, has now become a joy ride. And if for nothing at all, we the indigenous people who ply the stretch almost every week due to family and other commitments, can now heave a great sigh of relief, and we're so grateful to HE Prez Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

And something interesting happened on my way back to Accra today: I picked some cousins who had gone for our festival and dropped them off at Kasoa overpass. As we were taking off their languages from my car, a car passing over the bridge burst s tyre, and there was pandemonium.

Apparently, those around the market and lorry stations close to the overpass, started running helter-skelter. And those that were running at top speed were some group of NDC FOOL-soldiers holding a mini rally at the area, leaving their drums, all party paraphernalia, and sound systems behind.

Meanwhile, these are the very people threatening fire and brimstone over ordinary election results. People, persistently shouting from the rooftops of readiness to take up guns if they weren't declared winners of upcoming elections, were running helter-skelter, at the sound of car tyre blast.
