Ghanaians And The Willie Lynch Curse

The year was 1646. The American Commonwealth state of Virginia was a colony. A colony in its infancy! A British protectorate, to be specific. The Transatlantic slave-trade was in full bloom and thriving. The dark days of slavery was far from over! There was no light on the horizon to be seen, except hope of deliverance. Occasionally, slave-ships would arrive on the shores of New York to off-load their human cargo. The captured prisoners of war from the Gold Coast and the nearby Kingdoms awaited their fate. The terrible fate of slavery! Upon arrival, many slave-masters would be standing in line to bid. Those with pockets filled to the brim would buy aplenty! After shaking hands for a business executed contentedly, they would then transport their new gains to their plantations. Life on the various plantations was anything but peaceful. It was often plagued by uprisings and violence! The children of Africa may have been taken from their natural habitat under extreme conditions! By no means was their spirit downtrodden, nor their fighting spirit shattered.

Some of them concocted various ways and means to escape successfully. Others resorted to violence! Many slave-owners were brutally murdered until Willie Lynch, a slave-owner himself, came calling. In 1712, Willie Lynch arrived in the then-colony of Virginia from the West Indies. He came there to teach his methods to the other slave-owners. This is what he said in summary: "Gentlemen, I have here in my bag a full proof method for controlling your Black slaves. This method, if installed correctly, will control the slaves for at least three hundred to a thousand years. My method is simple! I have noticed a number of differences among the slaves. Difference in age, intelligence, size and sex. I take these differences and make them bigger! In other words, I use their differences to pitch them against each other. By doing so, the slaves themselves will remain perpetually in-cooperative with one another. They will continue to pull each other down to our advantage. This method have worked on my modest plantation in the West Indies!

Now that you have a list of differences, I shall give you an outline of action. But before that, I shall assure you that distrust is stronger than trust and envy stronger than adulation, respect or admiration. I use fear, distrust and envy for control purposes! The Black slaves, after receiving this indoctrination, shall carry on and will become self-refueling and self-generating for hundreds of years. In other words, the niggers would remain envious, distrustful and fearful of each other for generations to come. They would never see eye to eye on anything, let alone unite." Willie Lynch then proceeded to lecture his audience on how Blacks could remain in a perpetual state of dependency. This is what he said in summary: "The uncivilized female nigger has a tendency to depend on the uncivilized male nigger for protection. This by nature's design! However, her natural tendency can be reversed, and we did. We reversed nature by burning and pulling a civilized nigger apart and bull-whipping the other to the point of death, all in her presence. By her being left alone unprotected, with the protective male image destroyed, the ordeal caused her to move from her psychologically dependent state to a frozen independent state.

In this frozen psychological state of independence, she will raise her male and female offspring in reversed roles. For fear of the young male’s life, she will psychologically train him to be mentally weak and dependent, but physically strong. She will also train her female offspring to be psychologically independent, just like herself. What have you got? You’ve got the nigger woman out front, the nigger man behind and scared." Indeed, Willie Lynch’s method didn’t disappoint. It proved to be a success! Not only did the slave-owners applied it and saw peace, the British colonialists didn’t hesitate to use it. Willie Lynch’s method was used to instigate the tribal wars in the Gold Coast. It was also used to create the retrogressive condition in which we Ghanaians find ourselves. Ghana is a country of great substance! However, our penchant to pull each other down has left us poor. It has bankrupted our souls! We have become a nation of thieves and beggars. An embarrassment! Some of us never speak of love, only blasphemy to heaven and earth’s displease!
This is a country, which could build state-of-the-art hospitals for its citizens. We could set up a social security service for the unemployed and our low income families. We could create employment for the masses. Upgrading our decrepit education system and building affordable houses shouldn’t be hard to do. An address system is feasible! Our engineers are more than capable to build for us whatever we need. However, we’ve been programmed to depend on others to do for us what we can do for ourselves. So, we don’t dare call on them. The average Ghanaian, albeit schooled and physically strong, is mentally weak, uncreative and fearful. Also, when it comes to self-love, the less, the better. We love White people more than we love ourselves! We use our acquired knowledge, skills and expertise to serve their respective countries, just like how they planned it. Willie Lynch may have died a long time ago! However, his curse is still amongst us. His method still controls us. We have yet to discover who are as opposed to who we are not!
