Ghanaians Earnestly Yearn For Akufo-Addo’s Presidency

PRESS RELEASE - Ghanaians Earnestly Yearn For Akufo-Addo’s Presidency indicts John Mahama on Mills' death (2)

We are at a loss as to why such a constitutional breach could be carried at such critical period of the nation’s history. There must be in-depth investigations into what precipitated that action.

Wasn’t it intriguing that Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the President’s right hand man should choose the Saturday of all days to launch his campaign for election into Parliament as MP for Odododioodoo at a time when his then boss, the late President was celebrating his birthday?

Equally confusing was the fact that the late President was rushed to 37 Military Hospital in company of two pediatricians. This information was given by the Commander of the Hospital. Our late President was 68 years old when he died. Paediatricians to the layman, are doctors who specialize in the treatment of children. At 68, the late President did not need the services of children’s doctors. Why the people at the Castle including the then Vice President Mahama should make such doctors to take care of an adult President has given credence to a conspiracy theory which hinges on the fact that perhaps the doctors were brought in to ensure the former President’s never came back from the hospital alive.

We are now more than convinced that there was a deliberate and diabolical plan hatched with the connivance of the then Vice President Mahama to ensure that the President was dispatched to his early grave by hook or crook to enhance the fortunes of the NDC in the December 7, 2012 Elections. We do not see any genuine reason apart from what we have stated in making two paediatricians accompany the late President while he was being rushed to the Hospital.
We should also not overlook the utterances of some close confidants of the President during the latter’s final stay on earth. Dr Cadman Mills did not join the ambulance whilst the brother, former President Mills was being rushed to the 37 Military Hospital. We find his behaviour and action very odd. Even though we find it very strange that he was not present at the time the former President was officially pronounced dead, he came out with such a blasphemous statement that at the point of death, his brother, the late President raised his eyes to the Heavens, lifted his hands and uttered “Lord, I give all to you”.

We would like to draw readers’ attention to the fact that Dr Kwabena Adjei, Chairman of the NDC had stated that the former President had died in the morning of Tuesday, 24th July, 2012. It is equally important that this same Kwabena Adjei had stated that the rumours concerning the death of former President Mills some weeks before the actual event occurred had emanated from the then Vice President John Mahama.

We, members of Ghanaians Earnestly Yearn For Akufo Addo’s Presidency are more than convinced that the former President had died on Monday, 23rd July, 2012 and the sister was brought in as a decoy to take peoples mind from the fact that the President was dead. We were told that the President was so ill that he could not attend the Religious Service held at the Castle on Sunday. What did the sister not go to see the brother on that Monday but waited till Tuesday before doing so? And why should the condition of the President deteriorate after a birthday party was organized for him? We suspect that it was at that birthday ‘bash’ that perpetrators of that heinous crime brought their plan to fruition and we suspect Nii Lante Vanderpuye’s absence from the party was a tactical move to give him an alibi in case a full scale enquiry was conducted. It could be slow poison that was given to the late President.

Again, we would like Ghanaians to interrogate the issue raised by Martin Amidu, Former Attorney General under late President Mills. He said the late President had set up a Three Member Committee to investigate the inflated contract on the purchase of military Aircrafts by his then VP, John Mahama. Martin Amidu has given us the names of the three persons. We suspect that it was the attempt to investigate his shady deals that made President Mahama decide that his ‘enemies’ were closing in on him and he had to act fast or be doomed. And it was at that point that the fate of the late President was sealed.

Members of the Committee are all alive and we demand that they speak out and tell Ghanaians all they know about the issues. Was it really true that the late President felt betrayed by the insincerity of his once trusted ally? What were their terms of reference and why could it not take off?

We are not fooled by the antics of President Mahama and his political atavists to stifle our quest for an open investigation into the role he played in the mysterious death of his predecessor. Ghanaians have been calling for an open investigation into the death, but the President pretends not to have heard nor read about it. But when the media came out with the story that his convoy had hit a pregnant woman the President said that he had recently become a victim of false publication, stressing that the information was wrong so the public should treat it with contempt.

We of GEYFAAP would have appreciated if he, President Mahama had said that those who are saying he had given two different accounts about how his predecessor died were wrong and that the public should treat it with the contempt it deserves. But he has not done any such thing but has chosen to comment on a matter which is innocuous to himself, even though the issue of the two contradictory statements have been in the public domain for a long time. Is he going to comment on it now or remain dumb and think the matter will die a natural death? I demand an answer

Will the President and his lackeys like Felix Ofosu Kwakye, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Kwesi Pratt, Sam George, Fiifi Kwetey, Omane Boamah, Alhaji Bature, Allotey Jacobs, Elvis Afriyie Ankra and many others tell Ghanaians why the President at the spur of the moment commented on the alleged attempts to prevent him from campaigning at Kibi (even though the NDC Executives at Kibi had issued a statement to the effect that no such thing had taken place), but has so far refused to comment on his personal involvement in dispatching his predecessor to his untimely grave?

We challenge President Mahama to comment on these charges we are throwing at him with the same dispatch as he had been doing with other less relevant issues. If he and the NDC are innocent of these accusations they should respond to all the issues we have raised immediately. That is if they are people of integrity. Failure to do so will mean they are guilty as charged.

GEYFAAP demands a public inquest into the death. We demand that the President and top members of his administration make themselves available for questioning to find out what roles, if any they had played in the untimely death of President John Evans Atta Mills.

We demand answers to all questions we have raised in this Press Release, especially from President Mahama, Dr Kwabena Agyei, Haruna Iddrissu, Henry Martey Newman, Dr Cadman Mills, Anita de Souza and many others who have been mentioned in similar statements or write up on the death. We equally appeal and demand that the tapes –

1) The one by President Mahama where he spoke of meeting the late President on the day of his death.
2) Shaka Ssali’s exclusive interview with President Mahama on President Mills death
3) Haruna Iddrissu’s account on the death of President Mills

be played to know what had gone wrong with the way we handled the death of our former President.
Finally, we wish to emphasize that, there is the need for Ghanaians to know the credentials, including the negatives of current President, John Mahama. It has therefore become imperative for various Media Houses in possession of the tapes, especially the Electronic ones to consistently and intermittently play them to enable Ghanaians know the true characters of the person into whose hand we have entrusted our collective destiny.

It will then enable Ghanaians to make a wise and informed decision as to whether or not the person now occupying the highest office of the land deserves a renewal of the present mandate. We of GEYFAAP do not think so. We are strongly convinced that the hands of the present occupant are tainted with the blood of our late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills. If due diligence is not done properly we might have a “murderer” for President. What do you do to a “small snake”? Kill it in its infancy before it grows up!!.

It is on this note that we solicit the support of all leading Media Houses in possession of these three tapes to please play them continuously and intermittently as if their entire existence depend on them.
